I’m by no stretch the eminent expert on that question, but it basically refers to using low pressure and high volume combined with an effective chemical mixture.
You can ‘soft wash’ most all types of siding and decks.
Someone else can add much more to it.
thx Dan
Yep, what Dan said. Still using a pressure washer (in most cases), but just not using the “pressure”. Applying the wash chemical and letting it do the work and later rinsing off with high volume low pressure. There are some arguments about the cutoff of when it’s considered “high” pressure though.
Go to pressurewashingresource.com and read all about it.
what Dan said. You will need different size tips for the type Machine you have 4 gallon 5 gallon 8 gallon all require the right size tips for
A. Drawing your soap solutions one tip will be for high soaping then you will have another tip with a fan spray for low soaping
B. You can also have two other tips for high rinsing an low rinsing
There is also a downstream injector that is attached somewhere inline usually at your reel that bypasses the pump an allows your solution to be drawn (causes a venturi)out of your high pressure hose with the right tip you can shoot your chems up to 24’ even higher.
As for the chemicals for the mold mildue an grime you will need some type of SH sodium Hypochlorite its found in house hold bleach which usually has 6% SH . A lot of guys use Liquid pool shock which contains 10%-12% SH . You will need some type of surfactant that helps the SH stick to the substrate you are cleaning. There are a lot of good industrial surfacants that contain water softeners what not in them . Elemonater, fresh wash , an simple cherry just to name a few.
I think I explained this right. No Experet either.
