I hate to nit pick the video, but in the beginning Dave says if you had an 8’ top section you would have to carry your ladders in twice. Well, that’s wrong. If you notice how Dave carries his ladders in, they are completely horizontal, which is exactly how I and my employees carry them through doors, 8’ top section and all.
I can dig that… I don’t go completely horizontal (and actually didn’t notice.)
- I tend to ‘dip’ under the door frame.
More of a chance to bang the extra 2’ with the 8’ tip ! The set being all 6’sections makes it more functional and less of a chance to bang with it, but if it works for one, wonderful, but that’s not standard operation just because one does it, in the industry the 6’ tip is the standard section from the day they were first built !
Dangerous…
P.S. Seth…Are your carrying the piece ladders with your hand locking them in like I showed in the vid and like I had ask you before ? Any answer ?
I think it’s ridiculous that you always seem to dismiss the 8’ top section. Who cares what the “standard” of the industry is? And what and where exactly is this “standard” written? I’m here to tell everyone that the 8’ top section is extremely useful, and is in our daily arsenal of ladders we use, just like the 6’ top sections. Just because you were taught by a son of Ettore (whatever that means), and I wasnt, doesn’t make you more right than me. I’ve been cleaning windows for a heck of a long time too. I’m wondering if you’ve ever used an 8’top section? I’ve tried them all. I even have a couple 4’ sections that I don’t like, but I bought them because I thought they’d be useful. In fact, it was a fellow window cleaner that recommended the 4’ sections. Well, I found the 8’ top way more useful. I try things, then decide if they are going to work for me and my company.
If I were to recommend a starter set of sectionals, I would surely recommend all 6’ sections, but once somebody gets used to them, I would suggest getting an 8’ top section to add to their set.
And ps, I already answered your question. I said I carry the ladders exactly like you do.
And pss, more chance to bang with the extra 2’?! If you’re carrying the sections exactly like you did, horizontally through the door, you could carry a 50’ section and not bang the doorway.
Please don’t respond directly to me please. I’m done. I know I’m not going to win. I mean how can I? im not a son of ettore, and you have the same syndrome as mistersqueegee. You know, the one where you can never possibly be wrong.
Cease and desist or my lawyers will be contacting you for royalty payments!
Thanks for calling me ridiculous Seth…
Firstly I said on my last post that if it works for some one than that would be WONDERFUL, if you don’t agree with me well that is your right but to call me ridiculous is just a bit controlling and belittling !!
Secondly I said there would be a CHANCE that it MAY bang the wall or door jam, “A CHANCE” ! Why use an example of carrying in a 50’ ladder in the house when that would never be done why not just stay with your example with the 8’er instead of going to the level of a non issue !
Thirdly you told JfromtheD that you level your ladder the same as I do to carry them in , and you never confirmed to ME directly from my question to YOU if YOU LOCKED YOUR HAND ON THE LADDER RUNG like I showed in the video…Lots of guys level them out by using two arms to carry them in and not locking their one arm on the rung !!
Trying to belittle me and also saying not to respond to you after you belittlement just means you are not going to be an open minded person …It’s okay for you to run me and others down (Tony) but you don’t want a response after you slap someone !
It’s funny you never reply to me at all except to argue and to try and make me look stupid, you never have a good friendly discussion with me ! If that’s what you want to do then all the power to you ! It’s also sort of funny that you sort of agree with me about the 6’tip when you said you’d advised to start with it…All ladders work, and I never said they don’t !!
It’s sounds to me that you are the one who feels he can not be possibly be wrong about the 8’ tip ! Funny you simi agree…
Oh and I’ll reply when and to who I want, you don’t control me, and thank you for your ridicule !

Oops a add on…
I calling myself a “Son of Ettore” is the same as calling myself an American because I was born and raised here and I know all the rules and thing to advance at, just as in W/C born and raised with one who helped cleaners in the industry to walk as a standard operating cleaner from the get go … Also as Immigrants become citizens of the US which is their desire and love for this country, people learning all they can at what works well and quick and with quality become standard operating W/Clers !
Also I once worked with a guy who had cleaned for 15 years and he was doing chair work one day on a job with 20 set of windows together next to each other and he made 20 drops cleaning only one plate on his way down…I ask him why he didn’t make 10 drops and clean both windows on his way down which would make it twice as fast, he said he was right handed and only cleaned with his right hand…Well he had done it for MANY years and he still hadn’t advanced himself to a higher level window cleaner…
Wattup Dange?! Nice to see your still alive and kicking. Hope all is well in Washing State.
