Anybody have a waiver for walking on clay tile roofs?
Would you mind sharing it?
Thanks
If they are truly ‘clay’ tiles you are almost guaranteed they will break! Concrete tiles are much less likely to break, but I simply have a policy that I don’t walk on tile roofs of any sort.
ANY roof tiles? That’s interesting. So what do you do when you have a window above a roof that you can’t pole?
yeah if your careful, its tough to break a concrete tile. sometimes you have to walk the roof, if its clay i figure i would have them sign a waiver because it would not be my fault if i broke one.
I actually will walk on some tile roofs, but where I live most of the roofs are still under warranty. Many of these warranties state that if anyone (other than an approved, licensed roofer) steps on the roof, the warranty is void.
I have to tell the customer that there are simply some windows I can’t clean because of this.
Why wouldn’t it be your fault? If you are on the roof and broke the tile its your fault. Do you think that waiver will be an easy thing to sign? Not tryin’ to tick you off brudda. Just sayin’.
Even roofers break tile when they go and do leak repairs but they know they have to replace them. They are not that much to pay for, its only like 4 bucks a tile. If you get a roofer to do it, he’s gonna charge 4 or 5 hundred to replace 2 or 3 tiles.
i know what your saying, and now that i think about it they probably wouldn’t sign it.
But if it is impossible to walk on them without breaking, how am i suppost to be expected to walk on them without doing damage.
i think its almost a defective product, why do they even make them?
i guess ill have to just keep using my pads on them.
i have these pads i use to distribute the weight evenly across several tiles so the dont break. there about 6ft by2.5ft plywood with 8-10 inches of foam on the bottom covered with tarp material.
they work, but also a hassle
