My accountant is urging me to switch from QuickBooks online to Xero to receive the benefits of true cloud accounting. Does anyone here have any experience with cloud accounting software-subscription services?
Hi Cajunpuc,
My name is Michelle and I work for Xero - I’m glad to help with any questions you may have about Xero - just email me at sales(at)xero(dot)com and I’m glad to help. Here are some reason why our customers like us: No software installation, Unlimited users with different user roles, Daily automated bank feeds, Manage your accounts anywhere, anytime on any device, One affordable monthly fee.
Hope that is helpful Cajunpc!

Qb online is pretty much the gold standard, I’d question any accountant who is pushing for that.
Check out wave accounting.
Perfect for startups
Good for everyone else
Does not have all the crap qb has that one may never use

I’m in New Zealand and am into my second year with Xero. The reason I went this way is because it’s OS agnostic. Because it’s browser based there is no problem with using it on Mac, Windows or Linux. I do my bank reconciliation first thing every morning over breakfast. My bank feeds go to Xero automatically. My GST (similar to UK VAT) return is simply the push of a key every two months. Highly recommend it…
Thanks for the feedback and the endorsement! Do you use any applications with Xero like GeoOP? I want to manage my contacts, quotes and schedules to tie directly to an accounting system without having to key the same info in a dozen times!
No, I haven’t delved into the add ons but am certainly going to check some of them out now that I have confidence in the system.
