My company is currently called Atlas Window Cleaning. It’s a sub of my trash-out business, which I operate under the name Atlas Services. I’m finding that I do much better at pressure washing, gutter cleaning, etc, so I’m thinking of doing all my work under the name Atlas Services and having “Exterior Cleaning Specialists” (or “Experts”) attached to it. IE: Atlas Services - Exterior Cleaning Specialists
The thing is, I’m afraid Atlas Services won’t be clear enough about what I do. I have thought about going with Atlas Home Services, Atlas Exterior Services.
Atlas exterior services inc. or Atlas exterior cleaning solutions inc.
power washing
Window cleaning
Gutter cleaning
Where ever your name is, card, wrap, flyer, website. You will also list the services you do

Are you asking from a legal standpoint (your llc, s-corp, etc names) or from a marketing standpoint?
If it’s for marketing, just say Atlas Window Cleaning & Services
“Window Cleaning” is very clear, “Services” is not. So I’d have at least one very clear service and if people want other services then they can ask. On your marketing material you can bullet list them.
My company started by doing Christmas lights so its named Night Lights. When i added window cleaning i just added " for your outdoor maintenance solutions". Still not overly clear what we do but i don’t do any marketing other than posting an ad on Kijiji. If i go to it full time i might look at keeping Night Lights for lights and using a different name for windows, gutter, PW and such.

You can then modify your advertising to suit the service you are selling. The company name is not a selling point (You are not Sony, Pepsi, CocaCola etc) - it’s the service you should be selling.
Picking a name to encompass everything you do, may not be beneficial long term.
I agree with you about the flexibility, and that’s why I’m considering using Atlas Services and attaching the Exterior Cleaning info on there. Also, I’ve been on Angieslist as Atlas Services for about 6 years and it three off some of my customers when a client listed me on there as Atlas Window Cleaning, so I am thinking seriously about sticking with it.
Basically your name on any piece of marketing should not be the top heading or in big letters over powering the service you are selling.
The service you do should be the selling point ie. “Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing” with your logo and company name, smaller elsewhere.
You can modify the service by the type of marketing you are doing… as you may want to progress to “Gardening & Landscaping” or “Window Tinting” etc… you get the idea - you still have Atlas Services logo and name smaller elsewhere.
Even if you have a website say Atlas-Services.com - you can then have a splash page with choose your service - and they can pick from any of the service you do…
again you can have a separate website for any service such as Mills River Window Cleaning.com and still have that original splash page to choose the service - you are then advertising your other services via your window cleaning website…
One more request for your thoughts: I have decided to go with Atlas Services. My question is this: Which sounds best “Exterior Cleaning Specialists” or “Exterior Maintenance Specialists”?
I don’t want to be confused with a handyman service or a “jack-of-all-trades”
If you are trying to avoid “home maintenance” calls, then “Atlas Services - Exterior Cleaning Specialists” should be concise enough to get those peoples attention.
i think you got some very good advice in this thread. i was wrestling with some of the same questions earlier this year. some people helped me realize that, as long as your marketing material is clear in terms of what you do, your business name doesn’t have to be so specific.
In face to face situations, you can quickly explain exactly what you do. for your marketing efforts, let the content on the material (whether its a biz card, flyer, website, whatever) explain the exact services you offer.
