Competition

Lol, yeah I ain’t that guy no more big brian. You know that. All I do now is keep on truckin’. Now that I got my kid, I just ain’t so hungry no more man.

I really could give half a dump as long as bills are paid, a roof is over my head and food is in the fridge, maybe a beer or two.
I busted my hump for a minute trying to make sure my kid had what he needed before he was born, and he did. But I’ll not let the TV or Youtube raise my kid like many parents around me, you know?

It’s pretty cool to just kick it with him when he gets outta school at noon and hang out n stuff. Before I used to work untill ten and wake up at 3:30am.

Not no more man.

I’m up at 4:30 or 5am if I got a gig that day and usually back by 11:30 or 12 to pick him up from school.

Life’s better this way. I know you feel the same huh brian?

That would be enough motivation for me to crush him like the cockroach he is. I’m the kinda ultra competitive type of guy…

AMEN TO THAT

I had a competitor straight up lying about me at one point. He was telling people I went out of business and that I made a habit of hiring ex cons because they work cheaper lol.

Eventually, he got internet smart and tried opening a “Location” in my footprint. This was before Google made the verification postcards mandatory, so he could put himself in any place that he wanted.

THat didn’t work out too well for him. Haven’t heard a peep in 5 years lol.

Genies around here keep to themselves and focus on work rather than what the other guy is up to.

I’ve met all 3 Genie owners that work in my area at WCRA conventions. Nice guys, for the most part.

The strange thing is that they had no idea who I was. Not to sound high and mighty, but usually when I meet other guys from around here they know my company because we dominate the internet. Genies don’t do their own web marketing, so nobody has bothered looking, I guess lol.

Probably aren’t any Genie franchises in Alaska. I Googled just now and I don’t like their shirt. Too many words and too much small font. Too wide too.

My kind of schedule. I hate when I have to work past noon

There are a lot of days I work past noon. I start work as early as I can see so I can get off as early as possible. I like getting off early, so I have plenty of time to do things around the house. Cut the grass, wash clothes, take a nap, etc.

Ugh… I just lost an account to a franchise… o well I am out 20$ a month

That’s funny. What a pain in the neck.

That don’t top mine tho.

Someone around town started a rumor that I was a dope fiend!

Someone else started a rumor that I got shot and killed!
Man, I started getting calls from my old town I grew up in with homeboy’s crying on the phone! Unbelievable.
One of my x employees called my house phone about 6 years ago and told my wife I was having an affair with my customer care manager!

DUDE.

I been there too man, and longer. Sometimes would sleep in my truck for a few hours till the guys got on site and did it all over again.

To tell you the truth man, the only thing I had was bragging rights. If I managed money better, well, that’s a different story.

I went and quoted a place and followed up a little later only to find out that the other guy that got the job said something about me not being qualified and not being approved to do the windows!

Goes to show you what sort of people are out there. Nowadays I just let my work do the talking and any potential client that believes slander coming from another ‘window cleaner’ isn’t the sort of client I want anyway!
