anyone seen this or used it? Ran accross it on youtube. It looks pretty cool. YouTube - “The Spider” Gutter Protector - Ladder Stand-off
Certainly looks good. I would strongly recommend the Ladder Max however. It is built very well. That is what matters when your life is in it’s hands.
A Werner bull horns from lowes or home depot works just as well.

The werner standards are only $25 and the quick click for 42
This stand off is actually a bit different than the bull horn one that most hardware stores sell. with the bull horn standoff if installed properly the latter would extend above the roof line and you would have to step over it or around it which is not as safe as this design. With this stand off the latter rests at gutter level so you don’t have to step over it when stepping onto and off the roof. It also has the handles on each side to grab. If you clean gutters the latter would not be in the way when you clean the gutter, which might seem minor but when you do alot of gutters this would save alot of time.
It also looks very well built and designed. looks like a great product.
Great design ( spider ) but pretty spendy @ $ 225.00 +
I say go for it and let us know how it works. I’ve been using the Werner quick connect for years with no issues. I’d definately recommend the quick connect over the standard though. I have both and wing nuts P%#** me off. I mean, they have there place, just not on my stand-off.
That may be so. However, I believe OSHA requires to have the ladder extend three feet above the gutter line. How is that not safe? How is safer having no hand support stepping on/ off a roof?
You’re rather sales pitchy for someone who never used this new devise or you’ve convinced yourself this spider thing a better product. Let us know when you’ve compared the two.

I also like the ladder max. It is osha approved and as strong and durable as you can get. I have had it hit the ground at least 50 times when taking down a 32 foot ladder and it has not dented or received any damage whatsoever. It will last forever.

Looks like a nice product, having said that I will stick with the Levelok standoff, cheap and easy.
Why does it hit the ground so often?
Ladder -Max is at a good price as well.
Is quick to put on and off.
