retail is usually looking for the “half price guy” or the “work for wages guy”
but its always nice to try since it still depends on the person’s outlook if the budget is there
which reminds me, when the employee looking for a vendor doesn’t usually hire services for themselves for their property, i find that just amplifies the negatives toward accepting market rate vendor pricing
sometimes a “higher up” is in charge and is accustomed to and accepting of market rates
other times it doesn’t matter who or what they think, they just have a $10 budget and want $1,000 worth of work done for the $10
