I feel like this could use improvement. Wish I could run a single hose from the van but no room for a hose reel.
No room for a hose reel…dang, what the hell you got in that van? As for improvements I’d put a handle on the tank for easier carrying. I’m not a fan of using that much pole hose but if you get enough flow on hydrophobic glass then it’s all good. Also, why not get more hose to feed the tank (if needed) and leave tank and reel in (or near) the van. Looks like you have plenty of hose to get around houses.
I don’t know how much garden hose you have, I use 50’ plus the 100’ of WFP hose and serves me well. You should be able to get around most all houses with that set up.
I keep 3 lengths (50’, 100’, 150’) of WFP hose on cord reels. It’s far easier to run that smaller line around the back of the house and then work my way back to the front. I have 200’ feet on a hose reel, which I only use for a hot water feed. It’s easy to spool up, but not as easy dragging it out around a house through landscaping etc.
I find those reels to be more work than they are worth. The tubing tends to come off the side of it. No weight to keep them stable and unreel easily.
The Xero hose is easy enough to wind in hand and cuff with this:
Then hang from above.
The electrical cord reels do okay for pole tubing, I have found. Speaking of cord retention, you can make some custom loops by splicing your own braided rope! If you have extra laying around.
But in the end, everything is personal. It’s like asking someone what shoes they like: what fits one foot doesn’t always fit another.
So perhaps shorten the pole hose and use longer garden hose and move tank around as needed?
I wasn’t aware they made handles for the tank.
Hey, where does this QC get installed?
Window cleaning stuff, screen repair equipment (tables, screen, tools, spline), a back seat for helpers, and now WFP equipment. My Sienna is suddenly much smaller.
I have mine between the pole hose and the 3/8” “supply” hose on the reel. I made a little pigtail to adapt down from the 3/8” to 3/16”; I’ll have to take a pic or shoot a video later.
Here you go:
no, you have it correctly set up, you don’t want to move the tank at all.
I know that feeling! I have one extended cargo van and a 10’ box truck and I still don’t have enough space.
Now that you’re in the WFP game I predict you upgrading vehicles in the future to something bigger.
Scary, I’m actually considering a (gag) Chevy Express. Been a Toyota fan for years, this is a tough one.
You have no idea how much I’ve wished for the HiAce here in the US. It would put the big 3’s van fleet sales out of business, though
I like these reels . If I were you I’d get a reel like this ,an Two 100’ pocket hoses . Leave your tank at the truck with the reel.
