Hi iv got new twin di vessels rather than ro system as my water is soft at a reading of 136 ppm off the mains, prob is that when iv fill my resin into di tanks ran water through the 2 vessels its still reading 136, water in/out is goin in proper direction and resin been used is " dowex hcr-s/s ff cation exchange resin", please help me!
Is the resin spent? Do you have the DI tanks upright or on their side?

Is it mixed bed resin?? From my understanding cation and anion torsion remove different minerals…

You want cation and ion. It’s called Mixed Bed Resin. From your description it reads as if you only have cation.
