DI Tanks

I recently filled my small DI tank, and did one residential job with. Due to the weather it has been sitting around for a couple of weeks, and I probably won’t use it til spring. Is it ok to leave the resin and water that is in the tank til spring?

As long as it doesn’t freeze, I believe so.

Ive found that it takes a surprisingly long time for a tank to freeze. Hoses, on the other hand… different story.

Ironically, I killed a tank yesterday. I have one on reserve, and now that the winter is officially here I’ll be able to gauge what the actual long term effects are.

I guess what I really want to know is, seeing as I only used a fresh tank once, can the semi fresh resin sit in the tank in a warm house til spring and still be used and effective. There is as you know some water in the tank. Will these factors affect the TDS if I ree use this spring.

… No problem. It will be fine. Resin doesn’t go bad even sitting in water.

plug the holes so it does not dry out. If it dries out you will have bad resin come spring.

What happens if your resin freezes? It goes bad?

Had a 1/2 cubic foot tank last year freeze and it broke of the PVC head. That tank was killed so now it’s just an odd trash for cig butts during fires.

Your not going to get actual answers from people its actually none of your business… (joking) I would consult with the manufacturer, on this. Hope it does well for you, good question.

No, but it could damage your tank.

Yes I would listen to John, he is wise beyond his years and knows exactly what he is talking about all the time.

Chris, can you block someone from the app, or does it have to be on the full site?

I will miss you.

Im not entirely sure TBH…

I don’t have much experience with banning or the back end of this board.

My expertise is more along the lines of babysitting.

I need a bottle.

I’m done waiting, good thing I got a bottle of my own. (Crown Royal).

We all new it was something…
