Directing traffic to your website

For those of us that have a website I was curious to know what methods you are using to maximize traffic and leads on line. Is there a clear cut best method, pay per click? google ads etc I would love to know whats working with the best ROI thx GP

You need to be on page 1 of the search engines for your key phrases. Depending on where you live this most likely will not be free. It takes time for a new site to appear in the natural listings (well, maybe on page 10, but who looks there?) Adwords will allow you to come up on page one of google (in the ads before the natural listings).
Prices will vary by region, for a good spot on page one of google ads using the keyphrase “San Diego window cleaning” you’d need to shell out 5 bucks a click.
I don’t use adwords much these days, not at those prices. When I did use adwords it was $2.00 per click. Now I come up near the top of page one for MOST of my keywords naturally and that’s free.
What’s your web address, and where are you from?

Here are a few methods to elevate your website’s organic listing:

Use keyword-based URL’s
Add keywords to images.
Create keyword-based in-site linking.
Obtain inbound keyword-based links from websites relevant to our industry.
Load up meta-tags with keywords.
Increase keyword density.
Vary the keyword linking combinations.
Create keyword-named webpages within your site.

That will all help substantially.

There’s some other good stuff, too, but that’s a start.

Excellent stuff Kevin. I practice many of these. I guess that’s why I’m just a few spots below you on page 1.

Here’s an example of Kevins tip about keyword-based in-site linking.
Instead of saying “Hey Toronto, for the best deal in window cleaning, CLICK HERE” (CLICK HERE as the link) you should make the words “BEST DEAL IN WINDOW CLEANING” as the link. In fact, you could make the whole sentence “HEY, TORONTO, CLICK HERE FOR THE BEST DEAL IN WINDOW CLEANING” a link. Google and other search engines will give this link more relevant value as opposed to CLICK HERE.

Thanks Kevin Great Info !

Think you could elaborate on this subject? Maybe a for dummies version I could grasp. I smell a new book in there somewhere.
