Dirt dobber nests

I have a customer that is buying a home that sat up for awhile. In the garage are many of these “dirt dobber” nests or maybe it’s “dirt dauber”

Anywho - they are on the sheetrock and I tried to knock a few down but they are pretty “stuck” on there. And they are very hard. I guess PW inside the garage would damage the rock so I was wondering…

any suggestions on how to get those ugly brown hard mud clumps off the walls?.

I thought about using a water bottle spraying them lightly and then scrapping with a mud knife. Well i don’t do the job until next week.

If there is not any paint on the sheetrock you could try a wire brush and then a toothbrush, then a damp rag. Do it dry.

I agree w/ Tory dry is the key. Wetting sheetrock is never a good idea. I use a 3" putty knife to scrape them off. Of course I’d want to know they were vacant first!

I had a lot of them yesterday on a job and took some use bleach and water and scrub brush to knock off the heavy one’s have to go back with on Monday to get the rest w/ long gated brush
