DIY Spray Screen Cleaner

Has anyone tried to make their own screen cleaner solution, either wipe on or spray? I currently use Screen Magic which works for me but very expensive. I’m thinking its made of a combination of Armor All and Purple Magic cleaner. I’m going to try some combinations of that, but curious if anyones tried their own combinations?

I have a gut feeling that SM is something used in another industry and isn’t as expensive-maybe like that tire cleaner that they use for car wash and auto detailers? Anyway, I don’t believe in magic.

You guys need some tin foil hats… Just sayin’

Or a Lovin’ Spoonful record.

Ok-I gave you my best guess, let’s hear yours!

“Tin foil hat” a typical right wing response to reason? protect myself from microwaves? conspiracy theories?
Lets just say I’m not interested in commercial use of my new invention when I figure it out, just for myself and others who don’t want to pay a fortune. I might try making one of those Eagle screen washers out of pvc if I can’t figure out a spray.

i saw a demo for screen magic once at the j racenstien in Carson CA. Real dirty screen let’s just say nothing " magical" happened

Sorry, I could care less about someone who doesn’t like it. Thats your problem. It works for me for over 200 screens, I’m just asking members who use screen magic and have made their own spray or brush application that works. I just find it to be very expensive and I’ll bet there are other “home remedies” like window cleaning soap that others have tried for less.

I asked that SM guy three different times what it actually was. I was just messing around, but it was starting to bug him.

so it’s worked on 6 or 7 homes?
I’m sure it does work but with my eyes I saw a demo and nothing happened, sorry.

Also not interested in making windows hydrophobic with the grease getting on the windows.

Have fun making your screen magic dude, I’ll be too busy making money, tbh

Larry, as you seem to be adding "to be honest’ to the end of your statements. I now know to never trust you unless you say “to be honest”.

Hahaha

As far as the screen magic thing goes … All I can say it has worked for me For the sunscreens and the regular bug screens I have used it on. I guess I will find out soon if it will make the glass hydrophobic or not . I am sure there will be another person or company to come out and say that they have the newest and the best screen cleaner. I know that by using the S.M so far it has taken me less time to clean a house with sunscreens and has boosted my income.
Is it a little pricey ? Yes , but it will pay for itself within a couple jobs. Everyone has their own ways of doing things and if it works for them then great. It all comes down to a preference … Some use ettore and some use unger.
But I can say by using the S.M my customers are very happy with the result and do not mind paying the cost to have new looking screens.

Screen Magic is a good product in the right situations.

Out by @getnbusy or @5star it will work real well. Its best on solar screens… Over her in Jersey where we have all metal screens it doesn’t do to much. I believe Tim recently got his product in ACE hardwares… Congrats to him!

Well I don’t think I’d go that far. It is a “good” product though

Ok, I’ll play nice, you asked a valid question. Myself I think that the brush is important reguardless of soap choice. Consider, the Eagle is useing just water. I do my screens by hand with the Nylex brush I use for frames, sills, and dirty glass with whatever I have in the bucket or bottle.
