Do any of you guys use Twitter?

Hi Guys,

I just had a question I opened a Twitter account for my company, but I’m still on the learning curve for the service. Have any of you used it? How do you use it properly to get leads for window cleaning? Look forward to the responses.

Hey Crown,

Check out this article on facebook marketing, it works exactly the same for twitter, I just focus on facebook in the article.

Smart Facebook Marketing | Get on page one of Google

This is just one way, there are many more, but this is the most effective way I’ve found so far.

A huge reason why is this:

20 customers with 50 followers each posting your your link = 1,000 peoples twitter pages you link can be seen on. As opposed to the limited number of twitter followers you have if you only advertise via your own twitter page.

Oh yeah, add me to your twitter by clicking the link in my sig, I’ll add you too.

Doug’s idea is a great idea. I use Twitter and a sort of branding/communication avenue. I post helpful articles, reccomendations, quick window or gutter cleaning tips and specials. I try to stay consistent. These people who are viewing my tweets are always being reminded that I am a window cleaner. Hopefully, the next time they notice their dirty windows, they think of me first.

Not many of my followers are customers, but I will look for people who know people. Or businesses where their demographics fit mine. I follow them, they usually then follow me. My goal is to post helpful info that get’s retweeted. Then, their followers see it.

I’ll be using it starting this spring to keep my customers aware of any specials or cancellations that create an opening in our schedule.
I also would like to follow your tweets. Click the follow me link in my signature and I can follow you as well.

Keep in mind you can search for people locally on Twitter.

I would surely look for some local businesses where my
kind of peeps would chill at. Follow them AND their
followers.

Oh ya.

Good point

What?

Don’t understand that?

I’ll break it down-

Find local business with the type of customers
you wish to have as your own.

Follow the business on Twitter (if they have a
twitter account) and follow the people following
the business. They may follow back.

Sorry, I was using my slang before

Thank you for clearing that up, I re-read it 10 times and still wasn’t sure exactly what you where trying to say.

why would they follow you back if they don’t even know who you are?
(aside from the few people that autofollow)

Doug, how much do you know about Twitter? I did not read you
blog but I assumed you knew this stuff. I actually found out
about it a month ago and I was surprised.

I do it on Facebook daily. I will friend people I never met because
they are on my friends list, they accept 100% of the time.

I don’t know if that would lead to sales or not, but they do it.
