I just realized the storefront I just bid on and get has a no soliciting sign. Does this prevent you from canvassing if they have a no soliciting sign?
It would be respectful but Iāll guess we may have some posts saying who cares, go ahead.
I work in a neighborhood where most houses have a āNo Solicitingā sign. I would respect their privacy regardless if you see that sign on a house or business. People will appreciate that.
It does not prevent me.
Now that I think about it a no soliciting sign is on almost every storefront in my area. Idk how im going to get around it.
Storefront? No Soliciting? Never saw one. Walk right in. Your offering a real service. If you look for no soliciting signs, your not seeing the signs if they need a window washer or not⦠AND DONāT apologize for walking by one unless they bring it up, if you acknowledge it, they can get huffy if they feel like it. Hard objection you donāt need. Most times at storefront if you tell the gatekeeper/front counter person that you too own a small business and would like to speak to the management/ owner, They wonāt even blink. Doesnāt involve them, they know it and just go get the owner.

Personally I ignore the signs. Probably more than half of my current accounts have them up and nobody has ever said a word about it.
Just be courteous and polite, and if they seem at all busy then try back another time.
Those signs might actually be a good up sell as long as they are just vinyl graphics. Hey I just happen to make thoseā¦
Go door-to-door selling āNo Solicitingā signs and if they donāt buy one, come back the next day and say, āIf you had a sign, I wouldnāt be bothering you.ā
Iāve never seen one on a storefront. In our area people will put a sign that says āpas de circulaireā, or no advertising bags. You know, the big plastic bags that are full of local advertising. I still put a door hanger on these as itās not technically a ācirculaireā. Iāve never had an issue.
If it says āno salesmanā Iād respect it. I have been known to approach someone I see coming out of the building and onto the street and the vast majority appreciate the interaction actually.
I was selling custom store hour graphics like hotcakes for a while there, Now none of my route work needs em though.
Or you can do as mentioned, just act like you didnāt see the sign.
Keep us posted on your success!
Waitā¦what⦠some storefronts have āno solicitationā signs up?.. never noticed I thought everyone wants āMEā to be their window cleaner!..
⦠who knew
Be the āmailmanā, drop off an introductory-information-packet of your services for the manager/owner. If they are interested they will call, otherwise risk getting booted out of the store.
Nope, Iām not selling anything. Iām offering free estimates.
The no soliciting is mainly for those people who are hawking physical products. In our area, theyāre usually Indians from off the rez⦠but in their case, I want to see what theyāre selling. Theyāve got some wicked awesome art and jewelry. My mom got me some beautiful sandpaintings super cheap from some guy soliciting. He just needed some money. And these are sandpaintings you wonāt see outside of the rez cuz the tourists just donāt know whatās good.
