Do You Clean GutterscIn The Rain?

I was just wondering how most of you feel about cleaning gutters in the rain? I personally find it too dangerous, so we don’t do it. I beleive in preventative maintenance type gutter cleaning and not in emergency only gutter cleaning.

Depends on the reward-to-risk ratio for me.

No. The only job I do in the rain is powerwash

I just added a poll if you want to participate.

I have cleaned them in the rain, but I don’t get up on the roof when the shingles are wet. After I hose out the gutters after the debris has been removed, I end up so wet that rain isn’t my biggest problem. lol

all day long. rain/shine… just like the post office

As long as its just a light rain and no lightening

Wow. I am in the minority on this one.

The best thing about cleaning gutters in the rain (assuming it is not coming down like crazy) is that you can charge a premium for it!

And it’s pretty easy to tell if they are working properly…

I try to do gutters when its raining, stops people moaning about doing windows in the rain.

It’ pouring rain hre today.

That gutter is working perfectly.

Rain Or shine for sure, here we only get a few weeks between the leaves falling off the trees and the colder weather coming and freezing them for the winter. So we do them in the rain as long as there isnt and lighting and the winds are not to bad. Doing them in the rain makes it easier as you know which downspouts are working before you even start!

Unfortunately yes.

Doing a gutter job tomorrow and its supposed to be raining all day.

I live in Oregon, so yes.

My former employer once had me install solar screens in the rain… I could have died…

Looks like we may finally have a week with no rain. Time to get caught up.

We do not clean gutters in the rain due to Safety Concerns. Ladders do get slippery and I will listen to our employees. If an employee feels unsafe on a ladder, get him down.
