It depends on the situation and weather. I like insides if its freezing, raining, snowing or over 90 degrees outside. I also like insides if it’s a frequent account because it is usually less glass time.
When I was doing the work. I would clean outside and the employees inside. The benefits have all been mentioned. What I hate most about inside cleaning were my customers always wanted to shoot the breeze. In trying to be friendly I would talk back. Bad part was sometimes they get on a roll and I would not want to be rude and walk away from them. I would look at the watch and think “MAN THAT WAS 10 MINS ABOUT THE NEW GRANDCHILD!!!” I would end up waiting for the pause and hit them with Well time to get back to work. Many cases it was so bad I would send the employee inside with the invoice to get the check while I sat outside on a fake phone call.
Outs for me, I can always fly around the outside. atleast 85 of our resi work is in/out though. I let our employees handle the customers/inside, good training, lol.
The only time I just do exteriors, is when I Soft Wash a home, It’s an upsell that i can usually talk them into. " would you like your windows cleaned to match your siding? Since I am already here I would be happy to do it at a discounted rate.
