I’m putting together a logo for my window cleaning business, and do gutters as part of my services. Do most of you put “gutter cleaning” on your logo? For some reason, it doesn’t look right, almost as if it lowers my standards.
Simply put, no, we don’t. The logo is like a brand mark. Keep it simple and memorable. Your main services should be displayed elsewhere in your marketing materials, imho.
As an exercise, imagine your logo without any wording, color, or flair, and scaled down to an inch tall. Does it still work? That’s a sign of an effective logo. For examples, consider Cogan cleaning, Optimum Maintenance, or many of the others here on the forum.
The logo doesn’t have anything but the actual logo and my company name.

How so?
If you have more than three words in your logo you’re probably saying too much…
