Dolly/handtruck

hi there

I just switched from a 1/2cu.ft tank to a 1.2cu.ft one, and the size difference is obvious. I was using a foldable dolly, aluminum, really light weight but right now it just doesn’t go along nicely with the new tank.

What do you guys use to move your tanks around ?
Would you recommend any particular kind of dolly or hand-truck ?

I’ll do some sort of van-mount installation probably next year, but right now is much better for me to move the tank around with me.

Thanks

I use a pick-up truck to haul my 9x44 tank around.

In all seriousness, it is great to have the tank mounted on the truck and have two stacked Cox reels. One reel has 300’ of 3/8 water hose that feeds the water fed pole and the other reel has 150’ of commercial garden hose that supplies water from the bib.

I used to Jones for a DI tank cart or dolly but I got to thinking why would I want to drag that thing around the job site? It’s kinda like rolling a power washer around a house to do a power wash. I finally got passed that too and have my power washer, tank, reels, etc. mounted on a trailer so I don’t have to drag it all around a house while doing a power washing gig.

Richard, that’s for sure one of my future projects.
I was looking for something more temporary while I get there.

Lowe’s has some affordable hand trucks that you could attach the tank to with motorcycle straps. But the tank could fall over easy and the resin could get messed up.

It seems that a 4 wheel cart would be more stable but unfortunately more expensive too. Good luck with it whatever you end up using.

I use 275 feet of DI supply hose and 50 or 100 foot garden hose to water supply.

I never have to lift that heavy ass tank out of the truck. Use the money you will spend on a dolly and buy a hose reel.

Just my .02

Tank is really stable on the cart it’s seating tight now, so that’s not an issue for me.
Also I’d have to fabricate some sort of tray to catch any drippings or small leaks if the tank is inside the van. Lots of pros & cons. Might take the cheap-bastard route now and upgrade as I want later.

thanks guys.

Have you looked at these?

Thanks Karlos, I was looking for something with a curved back, but this ones are great.
Will look more into that.
