Door hangers

Have any of you guys had any luck with door hangers. I’ve tried many things before but never tried door hangers.

Luke, door hangers are my major attraction. I get quality printed door hangers from Lady Printing and often get compliments on them as to why I was called from them.
You get to pick and choose which houses get one instead mailing out to a mixed neighborhood of maybe 25% potential customers based on curb appeal and not waste 75% on homes you can just tell by the upkeep of the house that they do not hire home services. (Arbitrary percentages used of course).

Plus, after you do a home walk 5 or 10 homes up one side of where you are working, and 5 or 10 homes the other direction both sides of the street. Many times they will have seen you working at the neighbors and then that gets reinforced by a door hanger on THEIR door.

This is my first year in business, been hitting door hangers pretty hard. From all I have heard and ready you expect .5%-2% which I’m sure you know about that stuff than I.

However I have had a much higher figure, about 5%… Also nearly everyday I am out delivering door hangers, I get business from either my car, walking up when the owner is in the yard (they ask questions and I give them my quick pitch). I dress nice (preppy) and smile…

The only 2 negatives I’ve found:
1.time consuming
2.make sure it’s legal in the area without a solicitor permit.

I think it depends on the area and neighborhood I have used door hangers and card stock to stuff in doors here in Vegas and haven’t had any luck yet with them but people swear by them

No res

I just put out about 300 door hangers, but I put them in mail boxes, not sure if that makes a difference but figured I’d mention it. Mostly wealthy communities or with retirees. Had 1 call so far to book in September. I’m thinking maybe their are better times to put them out than in July. First time for me but figured I’d share my experience so far.

I was told by local authorities I couldn’t put anything in or on a mailbox. Supposedly it’s a law and that if someone pushed it I could be cited yada yada.

Might just be my local governmental bureaucracy at it’s best…

It’s definitely against the law.

Ditto. Definitely against federal law so be careful of that.

In my area we knock doors and put out hangers super heavy I usually average a sale or two an hour. The other day we sold 5 deals in 2 hours. Then the doors I don’t talk to anyone I leave a flyer and I get 1-2 calls a week off of them.

I definitely. I’ve found walk in is best for storefronts/commercial. I saw some nice door hangers poor man window cleaning had made and was thinking about creating some. I wouldn’t drop in mailboxes, I wanted to try them out in August specifically for our fall buisness. I wash going to push gutter cleaning along with our window cleaning. We hear all the time it’s hard for folks to find somebody to do a good job on gutters.

We haven’t been disciplined with door hangars, generally 5 or 6 around a house we just finished. Then I use up the supply in the truck and forget to restock for 2 or 3 months…

Even still, the supply we have had paid for itself many times over. This is just resi WC, mind you.

I believe there is a huge untapped market for GC. I think you would get some hits from August door hangers, but I imagine you’ll get quite a few more if you do a job this fall and then hit the neighbors’ homes.

This seems like a great idea to me. Maybe put some pricing on nice 2-sided, glossy color hangers.

Good thinking.

I agree …out gutter cleaning in the spring was insane. I saw a huge increase. Honestly I think we are one of the most expensive but we get tons of referrals based upon our work. We give the custom a video inspection so they can see their gutters as well. We remove all of the debri then power wash out the gutters . Power wash or snake the down spouts and power wash the fascias and exterior gutters. We also dispose all the debri. Now all of that has different prices points but it’s what 2 offer. And of course another video to show the job completed
