well guys, i woke up this morning to about 3 inches of snow piled up on grass and vehicles, and about -2C. Talk about losing motivation for work today. There is also huge gusts of wind, and I have ladder work to do today.

Yeah Eric, I heard the weather report for North Bay this morning and thought of you right away. My only call today canceled due to heavy wind gusts and possibility of precipitation. Just as well, I’m not in the mood to work today. Gotta stay in and work on marketing materials.

I lived up in the middle of maine one winter, massachucets for another, oh and michigan for another so I know what a REAL winter is, and I feel for you guys,. I love San Diego!
You gotta love winter… :rolleyes: Here in Missouri the weather is starting to turn . I Love the looks i get when it gets cold and and i am washing windows , ppl look at you like your stupid. I just smile and move on.
i once had a manager of a local grocery store chain come up to me and ask me why am i doing his windows in the cold and snow. You have got to be crzy doing that. I looked him straight in the eye and told him that he hired me to keep his store looking good And you wanted someone reliable and professional to do this for you. What happens if I dont show up a few times because the “weather” isn’t co operating with us. You would wonder where your window cleaner has been. Then you would look for someone else to do the windows for you. He then told me that is the most honest answer he had had in yrs. He appreciated my response. He said he never thought about it like that . I have since started doing all 6 of those stores in the area. And i never have trouble doing these stores no matter what the weather is …
Mark>> yes i had a re-scheduling today too in the afternoon. the wind gust way to high for me to risk being on a ladder during, not to mention how hard it is to keep the dirty water dripping towards the ground when its that windy and not up onto the clean windows! On the plus side, my phone is ringing off the hook today, and ive got the next 2 weeks booked solid!
Another cold morning here in New Jersey. The guys are starting to complain about it already. They should go work for Crazy Cleaner for one day and see what cold is really like. New Jersey will seem like Florida to them.
It was 87 yesterday. I got sunburned. I’m ready for some fall like weather.
Doug , you aren’t making any friends with us talking about 87 and a sun burn LOL. Dang i wish that was me . I actualluly dont know what i would do if i didnt have the seasonal changes :D. With each change of season an whole new layer of trouble begins. Gotta love it

Its partly cloudy at a cool 49 degrees here in Seattle today. A high of 56 degrees. Thats perfect working weather for me.
For you guys living in the east, I feel your pain. I remember waking up at the butt crack of dawn, working in the dark ,freezing my fingers.
The company I worked for used isopropyl alcohol. Not sure what the difference between the two are.
I found that most pairs of gloves were to bulky to clean windows in. What worked for me were Atlas polyurethane gloves with a jersey glove insert.
What do you Eskimos were for hand protection?
yeah im using wwf in my solution already…kinda depressing. its funny how even a few degrees below freezing seems so cold when the season starts, but once we are done with -30 to -40C from January and Feb. a few degrees below freezing and ill be wearing shorts!
thats crazy. today was the first day for frozen washer sleeves. all of us are still in shorts. We have a pool going. $20 a head last one still wearing shorts and a t-shirt wins. you can buy back in for another $20 if you can’t hack one day. it’s funny how money helps you stick out the cold. it’s nice for me cause by the time someone wins the guys are used to the cold. our weather isn’t as bad as yours…15-30 in the morning and most of the time 50-65 by the afternoon. Unless the storms are in. then we can get as low as -10 in some areas.

I’m liking this year, it’s in the 50’s, even the 60’s this week. Last year at this time we had snow, wind, & ice already.
It was like 93 out here today, very cold…
