Ok so I’m filling out my
Facing slips and picking my routes and now I have a question.
So I have 1000 pieces to mail, but the routes I picked have a little over 500 residents per route, what do I do since I don’t have more then 1000 mailers? Do I have to have the exact amount for the route?

… Yes you must have the exact number of pieces. The postal service will check your numbers.
You either need to get more printed or pick another route. Make sure you are not including businesses in your routes, unless you want them of course, this could bring down your numbers enough.
With few exceptions, you must pay postage for the whole route.
So you pay for the 532 addresses that the USPS says are on that route, supply them with 500 cards and they will hand them out until they are all gone. Easy Peasy!
You must provide mailers for 90% of the deliverable addresses.
Yes, they check.
Yes, they will hold your mailing if you don’t provide enough even if you paid for the whole route.
A few months back we had a usps rep come in to introduce “the new eddm”. I asked about excluding apartments and was told we could not. It may be work asking again though. It seems that when dealing with differant people from the usps you get different answers often.
