Effective way to clean car wash windows?

I have a dealership here that has a car wash built in. They have standard garage bay doors (like 4 columns by 5 rows) with a build-up of soap scum/hard water.

Would a hard water restoration product be effective on these windows? I think I have “bio-clean”.

Thanks!

Depends on what stage it’s in. Could require Mr. Hardwater or glass renu

Everyone we have been in has been to far gone…

Yea they are usually pretty messed up. We have done one that wasnt to bad a few years back… We used one restore on it I believe…

Its usually best to have a couple of different levels of stain remover with you, always start with the lowest if you can.

Bio clean worked like a charm! They were actually 4 columns by 7 rows. The manager said “wow!”

Any suggestions (other than preventative maintenance) on something that could be applied to prevent build up?

Hi TJ,

I am guessing that most of the hydrophobic sealants should work well. The most inexpensive and easiest to get is Rain-X from the auto parts store. Sealants are degraded by the suns uv radiation. But glass filters out some of it. So sealants that are applied to the inside of a window should last much longer. This has been my experience anyhow.

In theory, shouldnt car wash windows be self cleaning?

In theory, Marge…in theory…

I’ve never used any sealants. How would I go about applying them?

Just curious how you used Bio Clean. Did you scrub or just apply then wipe off?
