So far this year, I have sent out two small email blasts (to 2010 customers only) – one on March 5, the other on March 26. Both were attempts to stay in touch with current customers and go ahead and get them on the schedule.
You can click HERE to see the second email I sent out - got a pretty good response rate from it, actually.
We’ve been using icontact this spring with an ok response for the most part. Definitely a good way to stay in touch with our current customers. Sending out an e-mail blast every 4-5 weeks
You guys that are sending out email blasts. What kind of content are you putting in them. I am trying to keep in touch with my customers more often but using snail mail gets expensive when you have 550 previous customers.

We opened a Mail Chimp account a while back. Have been starting to input customers who allow us to send correspondence into the Chimp system. Designing the template has proved to be more of a challenge for me than I originally thought. I do think that it is a great way to reach out to your existing clients. We plan on gearing towards more of a news letter to our customers providing tips on cleaning mirrors, end table glass as well as educating them about hard water stains, shotgun fungus and the importance of a good gutter maintenance program etc… I am really excited about launching our first campaign.
We do a couple mail chimp emails a week between the companies… We have found thats its now easier and way quicker to do the email in photoshop and then just bring it in as images into mailchimp. I have been meaning to share some of our templates with WCRA members… Im going to try and hurry up and do that. Look for them very soon.
That would be so awesome!
I sent out an icontact e-mail around 5 today and put about 10 new people on the gutter cleaning list for nov/dec in 30 MINUTES. I wish everything I did was that easy.
I just started messing around with mail chimp today…Supposedly there is a way I can get it to pull a header from my website…Do you know how to make that happen Chris? Im just trying to make something that looks similar to my website and get some previous gutter customers on the schedule for the next month.
It all depends on what were doing it follows the same pattern as direct physical mail. SOme are great some are bombs… And you have the same highs and lows, depending on time of year and day sent, day of the week, season etc…

That’s why they always look so good. Looking forward to seeing the examples and templates on the WCRA downloads.
Ive been having issues with designing an email in mailchimp. Its getting irritating. I start to input text and every time I go to the next step my work is gone.Bahhhh. Unfortunately I dont have Photoshop just Word and really cant afford to run out and buy it. Photoshiop is rather spendy.
