Ettore VS Unger WFP?

Hello all. I am just getting into the WFP arena and I was wondering if anyone could give me a review of the Ettore sectional system vs the Unger senctional. I like the idea that Ettore has kevlar…makes me think it will last longer with employee use and be able to withstand incoming fire in the event I clean a military PX in Iraq. Plus It just sounds cool. “My pole has Kevlar.”

Any pros and/or cons of each system? More accessories for one or the other? better brushes? Easy to clean with? Water flow/water distribution? Life expectancy? ROI (return on investment)? Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing your answers.

Alex, seriously dude, the clown thing is creepy. “Cant sleep, clowns will eat me.” The WCR guys know how to get customers.

In my opinion the Ettore and Unger poles are like the Cadillac of water fed poles. Not cheap by any means but they perform well and last.

and sorry about Pennywise

I’ve had a chance to try each one out at about 40ft. The Ettore was easier to handle becasue the sections were a smaller diameter. Plus I think the Ettore can be assembled to a greater height (65ft as opposed to Unger at 50ft). If weight were the issue alone then the Gardner sectional would win. But durability has to go to the other 2. I will say the Ettore seemed to be stiffer at 40ft than the Unger. Although that could just be my perception.

Just because it’s bundled as a 50-foot (or 30-foot) package doesn’t mean one couldn’t add sections (2.5 or 5 foot) and go higher, does it?

Correct Larry!

I guess not. I was thinking of the warranty. They sell it as a 50ft system. Do they advocate using it above 50ft? Not to mention that the Unger would cost considerably more at a matching height of 60+ft.

They dont but I know of someone that does occasionally.

Oh personally if I had to pick I would go with the Unger… The Ettore one is still damm fine.

What do you like about the Unger, Chris? Just curious.

It seems more durable… Im not saying that it is for sure…

Thanks, guys. But what about the water flow? does it a spray nozzle or come out like coming out of a hose? Where can I find some WFP’s on sale, it being my first one? Thanks again!!

Oh, I see my last comment was edited. My apologies to those who may have been offended

We have a lot of poles on sale, as well as some used poles if your interested.

Please feel free to get in touch with me and I would be happy to go over your options.

Can’t wait to go down to WCR to check em all out during the wfp demo.

I like the unger very durable

If you look at the connections on both poles you will see there are only a few threads connecting the poles together. Most of the stress on a wfp is in the middle connections and at the top sections. Also consider the thickness of the carbon fiber. Carbon fiber can be made in different thickness which determines its strenght and how ridgid it is. If you look at the Simpole you will see that the joints are made to be very strong and the carbon fiber is 0.81 which is very thick. 1 lb per 6 ft section It is the strongest pole on the market. It will not brake if you drop it. If you wfp very long sooner or later you are going to drop your pole. Unger and Ettore are both well made poles. I choose the Simpole because I wanted a pole that would last me a long time.
