When it comes to gear and compatibility, which extension poles work best with Ettore handles ?
I’ve come across some tips that are not compatible and do not clip onto the squeegees. I have sorbo and ettore handles and just want to acquire a few more poles that are nice to work with.
I get that I can put a wooden dowel on any pole but I’m hoping for a better connection
I find it so surprising that the handles and pole connections are not universal
This site is great thanks to all of you guys who spend the time to share your experience.
I gave up on tips years ago they never last the age of your pole and once they break off with a piece stuck inside, duct tape is what I use on the pole itself.
I use an Unger pole for all my high pole work as it’s the highest reaching pole (other than the Sorbo pole which Im not sure of he still sells it) so I modify any handles I want to fit on the pole and have them clip on. I just drill a hole that lines up with the locking pin. I would use Ettore if their poles were longer as their poles are better.
I use an Ettore pole for all my shorter work. I don’t like a locking tip for my short pole as I like to remove and replace tools quickly as I do it frequently. The best tip is the older Unger tip that has no locking mechanism in it. It’s a tight fit in the Ettore pole but it will fit on. I use Ettore brass for residential and the Unger wide bodied handle for commercial and both work great on the tip.
It is also possible to modify an Ettore tip to fit garelick poles.
I like the garelick poles because they are quick and sturdy. I like the ettore tips because they fit my tools (wagtail squeegee handle, ettore t-bar) and have a locking pin so the Wagtail doesn’t spin around when I’m fanning at odd angles.
