mattolmschenk Great post.
When I was running a red van, EVERYONE remarked that they had seen me on the road. Most people asked “how many vans do you have?” I don’t have hard numbers, but it was a regular occurrence.
With my blue truck and vinyl, I don’t get those remarks.
I’m not excited about a full wrap because unless you’re parking it inside for a lot of the day, it’s going to get chewed up pretty hard by the sun.
I am a vynil guy
For me too often folks listen to the sales person and put do much crap on a wrap one can’t figger out just WHAT they do
Me n grandson play a game called
"
Trash wrap or not"
As we drive around when we spot a Wrapped vehicle we have 5 seconds to figger out what they do or “” it’s trash"
Well over. 80% of the wraps we’ve seen has lost to the trash…
But it’s a fun game.
Our company does not drive a van or truck. ( like it seems everybody else does)
We have a kinda unique vehicle with vynil that I am ALLWAYS getting told people see me everywhere…
However if I was running a bigger company with a sales vehicle I would fall off my hi horse and get a simple wrap for it.
But I kinda like being different from the rest …
Peace
*** I’m no expert,
just been cleaning windows for a while.

It’s just lightning is not distributed properly…"

yeah, vinyl only. i am of the same school of though as crowder, whatever increase in conversion there may be between a full wrap and well done vinyl is minimal, and doesn’t justify the 500% increased cost.
We have vinyl on our rigs. Very clean, straight forward.
Picked up a Nissan NV a little while ago and the next step is graphics.
We switched shops over the winter and the new guy re-did some vinyl well, but I asked him to come up with a wrap idea. It was the worst thing I have ever seen. We are probably going to use someone else due to how terrible his idea was.
Anywho, good thread, great timing for me. Not sure how I will go vinyl or full wrap…however this is one of those fun decisions
Not sure I was clear. Due to his terrible concept I doubt I will let him put vinyl on our vehicles again. It was that much of a turn off.
He put a ton of thought into it, he ripped the most over used picture of a gutter and had it over 50% of the vehicle. We have 5 services…
Here is one place I seem to be at odds with most.
How important is the web address on the vehicle? Frankly I do not like it. Makes things cluttered. My target market has brains, they can google the company name.
Some people go WAY too overboard… Yeah we NEED our web address, home address, and social security number on our vans… While you’re at it throw on your drivers license number and we’re ALL GOOD… Make sure to put them as close to each other as possible to get the GREATEST effect…

main service
2)phone number
3)secondary service
4)branding (company name/logo)
5)web address
6)“the fancies” (social media decals/awards/affiliations/business card holder/qr code etc)
slogan (ie, “Hazzard County’s most BALLIN window cleaning company, since 1982”)
make sure you put a qr code on i have one and notice people taking shots of it also i have a e150 ford window van i had whats called perf installled with a logo ect… on the sides and back cost $700 got my money back within 30 days seems good to me
What is perf ? I herd that 3m vinyl is the way to go when wrapping.
I’m in the middle of a getting a wrap done.
It’s only been a year since I put my down payment in with this unprofessional shop .
One of the biggest mistakes I made so far. Not looking into this clowns background and/or look at his portfolio of work.
I’m screwed most likely I will end up in small claims court against this moron.
If I don’t end up killing him first. I really don’t know what to do . I’m losing sleep over it.
Fast Fanner is right make sure you do your research ,an pick the right shop to do your wrap.
Sent from my iPhone using Window Cleaning Resource mobile app.
Perf is just a perforated vinyl over the windows so you can see out. If done right, it looks good.

Dude, I’d seriously try to get my money back or if it’s not that much, I’d walk.
I’m interviewing wrap guys now and the prices are all pretty much the same. So what’s going to differentiate them is what they’re willing to do for me. I’ve got a general idea of what I want, I just need to see who is going to take care of me the way I take care of my customers.
My long term goal is to have a fleet so whoever I go with needs to be someone I like.
