Fancy wrap vs. simple vinyl: FIGHT!

good resources and education, thanks for posting

No problem Bruce . It’s funny because after actually researching , and finding all that stuff.

Seeing that these guys are adamant about not using a sign shop. That’s exactly where I went wrong.
I clean there shop, they been in business for quite some time , but there a sign shop not wrap professionals .
I think this stuff might help me though if I decide not to walk. Walking away from $ 1000.00. Is hard , but if you know me I won’t walk away with out a fight. I will walk but they will be in small claims court .

No I can’t lock is office door an beat him senseless. Lol hmmmm. Na can’t !!! For my wife’s peace of mind it will be through the court system.

All small sing/print shops want to do wraps , that’s where the big ticket item is for them . So they say yes they’ll do it. But once they see it’s not easy and there printer can’t print it or they don’t have the proper technic . They just can’t do it .

Mike , can you ask them to give you $1000 credit on business cards , flyer , postcards , maybe 2 sandwich sings instead . Looks like they spent the money and are just stuck , and can’t give you what they originally promise . It’s worth a shot.

Genaro, that’s a great idea. I’m going to have them do post cards, and signs for me instead. just have to get a value on those things. Like if I had him do 5000 post cards , an signs what should that cost.

Also I would just have to give him the template from one of Wcr designs correct ?

Wow I’m walking on clouds . Can’t wait to say stop the presses jerk off . Sorry had to. Lol.
Why wouldn’t he say yes to this. He has to, but what if he doesn’t.

I need to figure out how to present this to him in a professional way , not an angry way . Because let’s face I’m angry.:rage:. I have to think what $$ worth of those things Would be fair for both of us. Really it should be a 1000. But he is going to say I wasted time with him. So it should be x amount.

Ok I got some thinking to do, but this is great because I’ve been looking at other shops an I found a few I like. Here is one of them. Long Island’s #1 Source For Vehicle Wraps

One always needs to present it in a way that it benefits the other party

Again, good sign guys are hard to come by. If they screw it up MAKE them fix it… Geez I hate shitty sign guys… It’s a sore spot for me… Most of them suck… Find the good one…

ā€œThis is a nice shop you got here… would be a shame if it, oh, I dunno, burnt to the groundā€¦ā€

Weird. How long have you felt this way? I mean, that’s just a weird trigger in my mind. If you said ā€œI hate bad dentists.ā€ I’m on board. Or ā€œI hate bad flooring and tile guys.ā€ I hear ya. But signs…?

About the last two years… One guy can’t get the logo spaced right on the shirt… The other guy screws up the logo altogether. Oh was that name tag crooked and ironed on? Where’s the pros in that business? At least in my neck of the woods these guys suck… I’m constantly telling them what to do… I hate that…

Oh, now I get you and I’m with you.

I’m all for supporting local businesses but if they do a really shitty job over and over, I’ll find better ones or go online.

If you look around there are guys that specialize in vehicle wrapping.

Sorry, I meant what I would do in your situation. Sounds like these guys don’t really care about the quality of their work.

I think most of them just don’t really know what they’re doing. I have noticed some nice wraps around but surprisingly they all came from the same guy. When I have and extra 2 or 3 grand to spend after everything else I might get something done. I just bought a pretty new truck and right now I have a decent vinyl setup on the box so it’s not a critical priority. I wouldn’t run around with nothing though like some of these guys and myself when I first started. Decals definitely bring in business. Or at the least help people know WHO’S cleaning windows in the area. That’s what matters to me. I want people to know who THE window cleaner is around here… When talking to people I always address myself as ā€œthe window cleaner.ā€

Live and learn I guess… At least we know what we’re looking for by now…

I hear ya. I used to live in a small town with 1 dude per type of service and you had to take what you could get. But now living in the city, man… you got insane amounts of businesses for each thing so you can easily find some pros.

That said, I miss the easy going pace and relaxing feel of small town living.

We’ve tweaked the wraps a couple times over the past few years and we get calls every single day from them. We found that keeping it simple yet informative is the best way to catch the eye of our next customer.

Keep it clean and simple, yet sharp and eye catching. If I pass by going the opposite way I only have a split second to make you remember my company’s name and give a first impression.

I can’t count the number of times we’ve been asked if we’re part of a franchise. Its such a huge compliment! We’re based in a small town and service multiple countries and still get appreciated for being local, and yet everything we do is professional enough to be labeled as a national chain. People appreciate local AND professional service. Just my two cents.

Unique enough to stand out.
Informative at a glance.
Clean and professional.

I tell you what, I’d totally buy from this guy. He’s a master.

Everything about that looks incredible! So did you design that yourself and tweak it, or did someone do it for you?
