Nice topic and list!!!

I have to disagree with your Pacific Rim (I didn’t care for it, despite loving most of Del Toro’s movies, especially Pan’s Labyrinth), and who doesn’t love Mrs. Doubtfire? “Does your girlfriend have a girlfriend?” “Hey, It’s the 90’s!”

I’m totally with you on Gladiator though!

Here’s my list (and I should note, my list is more based on the general public’s opinion and the box office and post theater success rather than critic’s ratings. Is that cheating?):

Underrated:
1.Hero (the Jet Li one not the Dustin Hoffman one)
2.Moon
3.Apocalypto
4.Jackie Brown
5.Adaptation

Honorable mention: Be Kind Rewind, Fury, Sin City, L.A Confidential

Overrated:

  1. The Town (and all other Ben Affleck involved films, especially Gone Baby Gone, State of Play, Gone Girl, and yes even Good Will Hunting)
  2. Looper
  3. Super Troopers
  4. Boondock Saints
  5. Birdman

Honorable Mention: Gravity, The Blind Side (see the Bullock theme here)

  1. Pretty much every movie released for the last 10 years (remake, reboot, etc)

Underrated

  1. Grosse Point Blank

i was just thinking of that movie the other day. the diner scene is so classic. dan aykroyd: “Me?! Go ‘G’?! On YOU?! Never!”

and as for mrs. doubtfire- it’s simple. i can’t handle robin williams. and in that movie he was at his most robin-williams-y. ughh. gives me hives just thinking of it.

Would not have said anything but your list underrated movies is terrible. :slight_smile:
