Yeah I buy the already cut rubbers. It’s frustrating that there are so many things that can cause this to happen and not knowing which one it is.
I’ll be trying a new channel I think for my 18 and 22.

I’ve seen this before: pull the squeegee and it looks like you left a thin sheet of water on the window? It should evaporate and it’s usually in the winter when it’s cold. But I see you’re down under so that’s probably not it.
If it looks like you’re leaving solid lines like an old vinyl record, then it could be that your rubber is bad. But when I tried out sorbo stuff, it took me a long time to wear out the rubber.

It’s hard to diagnose when we can’t see what’s happening. We’ve all had issues with equipment but you just have to play around and find out what’s causing it.
Getting a nick from your “bucket on a belt” (boab) will cause it to leave 1 line usually in the middle of your squeegee.
Wearing your rubber out will cause it to leave a line at the top of your squeegee path.
Getting hair on your squeegee will cause it to leave one line per hair.
If your technique is bad, then that can leave lines too. Do you only get lines on pole pull downs? Or do you get them only with your hand technique? If you don’t use poles, then it could be that you’re using the wrong angle. Try holding the squeegee closer to 90 degrees on the window, then slowly lower it until you get lines.
I’ve never used unger gel, try it with just gg3. Try it with dawn. Play around with your sauce and see if it changes anything. Rise your mop out really good in the sink and see if it’s shedding.

Thanks mate, really good tips and information there . I do use a pole but usually i try to avoid pull downs, I go across. That’s all fine. I think maybe it could be my technique. I do fan at around 30 to 45 degree angles . Maybe I’m too much on an angle. I’ll play around with it and see what happens.

Practice make perfect…
I ALWAYS get lines if I pull across, I always towel the starting side when I pole across. If these are the lines you’re talking about, then try pull downs.
The trick to clean pull downs is don’t force your mop up into the top sill. Mop up to about 1" or 2" of the top sill. As you pull down angle your squeegee a little bit. The water will want to run UP the side your squeegee that is high so keep it angled the direction you’re going. Imagine that the window is covered in marbles and you want to get them to all go to one side. Imagine how you’ll angle the squeegee and you’ll get it.
If I’m cleaning a window and starting from the left, the right side of my squeegee will be a little bit higher than the left side (15-20 degrees or so, but you could do up to 45 degrees). The water will want to run UP your squeegee (the water will run towards the right).
When I come to the end of my pull and pull the squeegee off the glass, I’ll flip the squeegee over (rubber facing left) as I go to make the next pull. This flip will keep the water going to the right side of the squeegee.
Then repeat.
It takes a little practice but the flip doesn’t need to take any time as you re-position. You shouldn’t get any lines on the left side of your squeegee with this method.
There is a way to prevent your side pulls from leaving marks, but it’s really hard to describe. Basically you’ll have to start the pull as if you were going to fan it and you also need a swivel squeegee… You can also leave the 1"-2" of the side free of soap. When you jam the sills with your mop, they’ll suck in water and you’ll get drips (pull down) or lines (pull across). By leaving that little clear area, it helps prevent those things.
Thanks for all the great info. I can’t seem to picture what you’re saying. So was wondering if it’s not too much to ask, if you have any footage so I can view it.
It will be super if you have it on video .
Thanks .

I have had the same thing. I fixed the problem by putting a small piece of rubber on the inside of the boab wear the rubber rubs . It fixed my problem , but now I have new ninja boab and squeegee and the same thing . I am going to try sanding the inside the boab and see if that helps.
this is copied from other thread that was started
no need to change soap.
If the soap dont leave streaks on blade side 1,
it wont be the cause for streaks blade side 2.
You say it goes away after a while…
Sounds like a break in period for the new side of rubber.
Check your channel for deformities especially if its allways happening in the same area of the blade contact.

What’s up Hollywood?
Did you figure out what the problem was?
Hollywood ^^^^.
Hey JaredAl .
No unfortunately I didn’t find out the problem.
I found a solution though… I switched over to Ettore. Boy what a difference. I’m going so much faster. Not worrying about smears or streaks as there is none. Gotta love Ettore.
Thanks for all your support and input. I Really much appreciated it.
I’ll be asking more questions shortly about builders cleans.
