WCR video here, but not currently in the WCR Store.
Thanks Larry! For some reason i couldn’t find it. I looked but obviously not in the right place.:o
Thanks, Mike.
1/2 section as a base or center?
I purchased the vee-groove top, but no bonnet. What do you recommend for interior commercial use? Lambswool, rubber, huck?
I keep a lambswool bonnet on all my top pieces all the time. When we use them inside we put a huck towel over the bonnet.
I have an 8’ top piece instead.
Hey Larry,
I use a 1/2 piece center section so I can adjust my ladder height in smaller increments. A 4 ft center really only adds 3 feet of height and the 6 ft regular pieces are really only 5 ft. tall because you loose a foot with each piece. That being said you can go up 3 feet instead of 5 feet by adding a 1/2 piece instead of full length piece. You can come down 2 feet instead of 5 by taking out a full length piece and putting in a 1/2 piece. I like to place my short piece right above my base section so I can take it out easily and add a full length piece when needed.
As a side note I took a metal file and polished down the rivet heads so the pieces do not stick together so tightly. It is still snug but not super snug.</p>
Nothing like a dirty bonnet leaning against an interior white wall or window frame to spoil a job well done. The clean huck towel prevents that from happening. That’s a great idea Seth.
How about having a different bonnet for inside? Just asking.
I don’t think that will solve the problem of changing your ladder height when you’re working your way around a building. Frequently a 5 foot change in height will be way to much or way to little. The half piece section solves that problem. On second thought maybe New England window cleaners have to make a lot more changes in ladder height than in your part of the country because of our terrain. Very hilly here in the Boston area.
Tony, I guess it’s quicker to just throw a freshly cleaned huck towel over the bonnet. Some guys like to carry two bonnets.
Thanks Mike. I wasn’t sure how long it took to replace a bonnet.
I also have 6’ top sections. Pretty hilly in some areas around here too.
I learned that lesson years ago.
Not long Tony … but saving seconds adds up to saving hours in this business.

My brother is my main window cleaner at this time. I actually still have my full time job and am about to quit soon to run the business full time. He has a 2 door cavalier. The seats didn’t fold down so he took them out and cut the metal frame behind the seats to fit the little giant into his trunk and can now close the trunk lid. It works out great actually.
