Freshly painted exterior

Went and did a estimate today on a 3 story home. Home owner is getting it ready to put on the market. I get there and painters are painting the entire exterior. They were currently painting the window trims. She wants the windows done in a week because of a open house she is having. I will be cleaning the windows using traditional methods.

Do I need to be extra careful with water/solution runoff because of the paint being just a few days old? Should I specify anything regarding this issue on the quote? Should I charge more because of this possible issue? If I’m not mistaken one should let interior paint cure for a month prior to washing with soap & water. Not sure about exterior paints thou.

Exterior paint is tough it will be fine.

Thought so, thank you!

If they are wooden sashes you could run into a problem if they put new glazing on any of the panes. If the painted over uncured glazing it will never cure and you will need to be extra careful

Thank you for the advice

I was a painter for ten years before becoming a window cleaner. The exterior paint will be ok, but definitely be careful of the ends of your squegees and your scraper blade, if you peel up any paint its likely to bring long strands instead of just chipping off like old paint would.
