How about using “driveway salt”??
I just dont have the time…or patience for that to take effect.
I have never tried it before but I was thinking to go ahead and put salt in all the gutters. After you got done fighting the ice on one side of the gutters the others should be loosing up. Plus I think it would help with them iced up downspouts. Just a though. 
The biggest downside is that it would rinse away fairly quickly. Not to mention the harmful effects it could have to the gutter itself. Salt isn’t known for it’s tender qualities.
Just a thought. I never said a good thought!
