Gardiner smart clamps

They range from 22.00 -30.00. Depending on which clamp you need .
My pole has 6 clamps , but I wouldn’t replace the first one cause that is the one that holds the tip . It is showing 7.50 for that particular clamp though . (I think ?)

I’m kinda up in the air if I want to replace or not . I might just get one or two at first an see.

I found that clamp replacement job to be really easy and I’m not really very handy

Ya it’s not the labor part they are 25.00 a clamp. They sound like it would be worth the money to do them all, but if I replace an then realize they arnt much better than what I had that would be a bummer !

The clamp replacement job and went much better with the gardener black Apoxsee if you can get it then with the Home Depot o White marine grade Apoxsee which cracked and didn’t look good

I think you can buy a brand-new SLX 30 with the new clamps on it for around 550 also you get the Quick lock brush attachment with it seems a better way to go then $200 for new clamps on old pole

I am just about to take delivery of RHINO CLAMPS 1.4 - there are about 20 improvements we have effected - and none left on the list …

When we designed the mold, we made it so we can change the inside dimensions - effectively we can make them match other manufacturers poles - They will be $77 a set of 7 … I just have to think about making matching RHINO TIPS as well …

How does that sound ?

How does that sound ?

That’s another thing is it just smarter to get a new pole rather than replace the clamps . Why are the clamps so much $$

I don’t know man the thing is my slx-30 is still in good shape. The clamps drive me crazy though .

Decisions decisions There is a battle going on in my head one side is saying fuck it just get the clamps the other side is saying deal with it .

That sounds great . I read a thread in here when you talked about these clamps just didn’t know when , or if you were coming out with them . I would wait for this . 77.00 is very reasonable for a set of clamps .
Would it be the same procedure to put them on .
If so josh talks about this Gardiner epoxy which I can’t find the place he
Recommended doesn’t sell it so what would you suggest to use

I upgraded my SLX pole clamps to smart clamps and love them. Kinda like getting a new pole for the price of some clamps.

Why? Pole spinning?

Ya can’t get the lever set you have to keep adjusting the that little wheel which is so small it is a pain to move

Do you know what I mean ??

I had two or three clamps come loose. JB Weld has never failed me. They sell it at HD.

Actually I don’t know because I upgraded the clamps before I needed to.

Well… You did upgrade them for a reason. Basically the old clamps suck !!

I also use the gardiner swivel resi neck a lot. I have the one with euro threads on both ends. I love it. The quality is stupendous. The quick release lever is smooth and effortless, could use my pinky. I love that the swivel allows the brush to move but stays in the same position when you pull the pole away from the glass, you can rinse perfectly. If it was loose or returned to center you’d have to turn the pole and you’d lose your correct rinsing angle. Genius part creation.

My reason? I knew that the pole would have spinning problems down the road and the clamps were on sale when they first came out so I grabbed a set at a low price. Mike: Perhaps you’d be happier with Reach-iT clamps on your Gardiner pole?

I am quite passionate about our ‘smartphone metaphor’ :

The money you pay for a smartphone is relative to the hardware (eg. Nokia Lumia or iPhone 6).

The money you pay for a Waterfed Pole is relative to the hardware (ie. The Tubes)

The thing that makes a smartphone work and either you love or hate it, is the Operating System (eg. Android or ios8).

The thing that makes a Waterfed Pole work and either you love or hate it, is the Operating System (ie. The Clamps).

The thing you actually use when operating a Smartphone is the Apps (eg excel, messages, angry birds, invoice2go, tapatalk)

The thing you actually use when operating a Waterfed Pole is the Tools (eg brush, squeegee, wagtail, blade, indoor kit)

Apps and Tools are not necessary to be made by the Hardware / Pole manufacturer - albeit, we do our best to develop flawless, compatible solutions …

The Operating System / Clamps needs to be upgradeable. Making the hardware without upgradeable operating systems makes the hardware redundant prematurely, making you think to replace the hardware - creating another sale for the manufacturer.

RHINO Clamps do not use glue so they can be replaced - they are the ‘moving part’ that takes the wear-and-tear.

There are 2 business models here - those that build their products to fail, and those that build their products to last !
