Gas powered wfp delivery pump

Is anyone aware of a gas powered delivery pump? I have seen the ipc eco boost but i believe its a booster pump and not a delivery system. I saw someone using a pressure washer pump to feed a 3/8 hose reel but am trying to figure out how it worked with the bypass and stopping it without it popping fittings. I see most people use 12v pumps and so maybe thats the best way to go

I cannot comment on the gas-powered part as I have little experience with that and WFP.

I use a single 12v pump with a switch for my RO generation and WFP delivery. I set the pump up to run without the switch in one mode, and use the switch in the later mode. However, the pressure washer style pump that I usually think of may not work for a WFP application.

I’m not sure to be honest. Up until now I have always used a hose from spigot to my di tank. Then pole hose from di tank to brush. I know it’s not ideal but has been super simple. I’m just looking to get something a little more effective and have the option of bringing water for when there is no access. Probably gonna put it all on a pallet skid and just put it in the truck when needed.

My thought was this: garden hose to reel which goes through a di tank (or RO) filter and feeds a 35 gallon tank. Tank feeds pump which goes to reel with 300ft or so of 3/8 hose ending with about 70ft pole hose.

12v pump would be simpler to setup, and a lot quieter.

I have a deep cycle marine battery installed in the place of the truck’s starting battery. I top it off with a tender every couple weeks.

0/1-gauge power wire goes to the back of the truck, where it branches off to feed my wfp pump and electric reels. I’ve written more about it here and on PWR.

You can use a 30a pwm motor controller off amazon to control the speed of your pump to save on power and prevent cycling.

I have a gas powered pump with my IPC Eagle. I have to open the release about to prevent the PSI from going over 100. I’ve been told the ARO membrane can handle a higher PSI but the Di needs to be below 100. It is loud and unless you’re running extra lines, in my opinion, over kill. I been thinking of switching to a 12 volt pump for quite a while. I’ll take some pictures later and a video if you’d like.

You’re going to end up using it 100% of the time, a tank system is far easier than setting up a filter on the job. 35 gallon will be adequate, but I’d recommend going a little bigger 50-60gal.

@Infinity are you using that analog speed controller? I’m wondering how it stacks up to the digital Sping or RHG controllers.

I don’t think I’ve got that exact one, but something very similar. It’s definitely not as advanced as the Spring or RHG controllers. No dead-end detection or all the other wizardry they program into those things. But for the price they’re hard to beat.

@Infinity I like spending money on expensive stuff that looks cool anyway.
