First time poster so go easy on me! I launched my business in Adelaide, Australia, two months ago.
I have a customer who needs her huge second storey window washed from the outside only before Christmas. My WFP is fu**ed so how do I go about cleaning this huge 3m x 5m second storey window off my ladder? Bearing in mind it’s likely the Aussie sun will be smashing it as I do it.
when i was still using ladders i used to put the ladder on glass for windows like that. my brother (a firefighter for years) told me about this. glass is brittle but large pieces have a lot of flex without breaking.
Be sure to have good rubber end mitts over the end of the ladder
do not place the ladder close to the edge of the glass.
however you certainly should have modern equipment.
edit i assume your pole is not usable. trad on pole is another alternative.
I would extend the ladder above the glass, do as far down as I could safely reach,
then lower the ladder to under the window and do the lower part. I’m in Arizona so I know that kind of sun.
I find Glass Gleam 4 to be the best product for cleaning in direct sun.
Definitely this. You may even need to move the ladder to each of the four corners to reach everything. It can be a pain, just charge accordingly. The heat can make it tough for sure, where I’m at in Canada we hit +40 Celsius (104F) in the summer and it can mean you need to keep your mop as saturated as possible to prevent it from drying before you’re done with the squeegee. Best of luck!
