And who pays for fixing/replacing the windows when your fancy scanner fails?

Actually it looks like these tools are meant for window installers, not cleaners.

I remember a new house I did once that was supposed to have all low e windows. A quick check with a flashlight told me only half were. That wasn’t my job. But since I knew I thought it might be kind to let the woman know. She was very grateful. What she did with the info was her decision. If I notice anything that is defective when I am cleaning I usually tell the owner/manager. Bad tempered glass, cracks, scratches, stains, thumbprints between the IG unit plates, gassed units, anything.

So yes. You are absolutely correct. These inspection tools are not made for window cleaners. But for those that want to expand their services why not add window inspection. Some guys clean solar panels, or gutters. Some even clean carpets. I have never been against up selling to make an extra buck.
