I find myself more and more depending on google for my business. I still use Quickbooks for record keeping and invoicing. But I use google now for my customer management. I fill my calendar right from my G1 and it alerts me on my phone to call the person that I am scheduling the next day. All I have to do is hit send on my phone and I am connecting to my customer.
On the day of the job I hit “view address” and I can chose to view the google maps and it takes to straight to their address.
I just recently started taking pictures of all my receipts and converting them to pdf through an apps program. Then at the end of the week I use a google docs template and figure my expenses. All my receipts are stored on my google docs page for easy viewing.
With the Google calendar I can also upload pdf documents of invoices unto my calendar from the dates that I completed the job. That way when I go through the year I can see when I did a certain client and how much I charged them and for what.
Anyway a question. I have read that Chris uses google for everything in his business. (would like to see a video of just how you guys operate google with your business)
But how and what ways do others here use the power of google for your business? Has anyone created any templates from google docs they would like to share?
I like what you are doing with everything on Goolgle. Personally, I have my schedule on my google calander, and that calander is on the contact us page on my website so people can schedule an appointment themselves. Also it makes it easy for my guys to see where they will be and the job they are doing. I plan to get one of those google phones next year for sure. But right now, I am saving for a gardiner pole baby!!! Google phone after that. Gardiner first…google next:D
Great post. I love Google. The only thing I also use is the Google form. YOu can open a spreadsheet then create a nice looking form (from one of the drop downs). That form link can be posted on your website and customers can request a quote from there by adding their name, address, phone, even the number of windows etc. Their info is directly populated into the spreadsheet.
