My father-in-law ran across an Amaz*n Prime groupon like ad for 20 windows, screens tracks and sills for $79. Got storm windows, no problem $1 a piece. He’ll even travel up to 25 miles (gas is 4.20/gal around here). This guys been doing this a lot in various local groupon like ads. I hate groupon and the like. I don’t feel it’s taking away any of my business it just bugs me.
Shortly after I ran across this and found it fitting.

[]The more you cut your price to get business, the more likely you are to go out of business.
[*]The more you try to compete on a price basis the lower your prices will go. Corollary: Your income will follow.

Finally have the proof that these daily deals are not working. The company that I mentioned as running the Groupon type deal here in San Diego. Here are the Yelp reviews! Read them and you will see they can’t handle the monster they created Socal Green Window Cleaning - Rancho Bernardo - San Diego, CA
it is a possibility that someone could just be playing the odds and see how much they can keep for a cash injection, perhaps thinking a bigger cash pot if the price is lower. We assume someone handling it above board, but that may not always be the case.
Good things to work with if someone says a low price, well was is it a groupon price?
Just got this one today in my email. $59 in/out for 15 windows, $99 for 30 windows (which will only take 60-90 minutes as advertised). I say go right ahead and have fun. It’s not the $17 super-deal but I’m still pretty amazed that any company would even consider doing this.
