Hard water on signage

Hey everyone,

I was curious if anyone on here has removed or has any info on removing this. From what I felt and saw, it’s painted aluminum I’m guessing

And if you have removed something like this, would you kindly share a number on the cost.

Dang yeah that’s a hard one… C_Winniger or JaredAI might have an answer for you…

No me!

If it’s anodized it should be fairly tough if you’re gentle enough on it. You might try a tiny corner with CLR. I wouldn’t think it would affect the anodization, but who knows… Maybe Henry?

Dry ice blasting will take care of it.

Doc and Andy,

Tell us what you know! Personally I have been fascinated by this technology. Have played with dry ice since I was a wee one. Never took the skin off my fingers though.

Henry

It’s not as simple as one might think you need the proper equipment for dry ice blasting 185 cfm compressor, air dryer and after cooler and the a Pelletier or a shaver. These two machines can run $30k to $60k new. I just picked up a Pelletizer haven’t had a chance to play w it yet but dry ice blasting is the only blasting method that does not remove any of the substrate. You can actual remove the ink from a busines card with out damaging the paper. When the dry ice hit it expands to over 800 times its size removing whatever you want removed and reverting back to a gas so zero media is left behind so there is basically zero clean up. Amazing technology and what you can clean with it is unlimited. There’s a video on line where they cover a Harley v rod in rhino lining and blast it off to new without damaging the paint or the Harley only removes what u want it to

No, No CLR contains HCL (hydrochloric acid) also known as muratic. It is too strong. You need to find a mild (12% to 16%) Phosphoric acid. Wet the surface, put the acid on a white doodle pad holder and lightly scrub a small area, rinse with hose, repeat, rinse, and repeat until area is clean

Thanks for all the info guys, I appreciate it.

I was just bidding the dealership and he asked if it could be removed. I will update you guys if they agree to the proposal terms
