Hard water stains on a sunroom

Others have already brought up the problem of how difficult it can be to keep from “burning” glass with certain acid based “restoration” products… So I won’t continue with that. I will however ask a question. If an acid based product does NOT chemically react with glass surfaces than how is it that product is able to convert the glass from hydrophobic to hydrophylic when injected into the water of a WFP? Especially since the product does this by means of an acid not a sealant? This really does prove that there is a reaction.
Or a change in the chemical/physical properties of the glass surface. Apparently then the rinse that a WFP offers does not prevent such a reaction. Bottom line is we need to know the chemistry of the products we are using and the chemistry of what they are doing. Great thread!
