Yes I do pure water an denatured alcohol in a spray bottle.
Like ^^ Majestic66 said, adding the denatured alcohol even some distilled vinegar can work wonders

What I have trouble with is not drying without spots and streaks. Is this too much water in the mix?

We just use Sprayway and get great results with the Unger pads. I would like to see a pad 3/4 or half size for smaller cut ups.
I have used Sprayway and Zep foam and Zep liq. They all seem to leave a haze with the Unger pads. I had one window that I couldnāt get the haze off until I used water and Ecover.

Hey Derryll, I was using the pad on a transom, and I had the same thing with the haze still being there ( it was hazey before I started though) had to bring in 3 pieces of ladder an get up there an use the traditional tools I guess just like the wfp it wont work on everything. Was the haze there before you started cleaning?
There was a haze on the glass before I cleaned with the Zep and then with the Sprayway. It was a restaurant and I think it was from the smoke from cooking. I thought it worked, but then the sun hit it and I was horrified! It looked like I had done little more than smear the window. So I cleaned it again⦠same deal. Buffed it a few times with the pad, slightly better but still looked bad. So I broke out the mop and squeegee. Bam! Clean!
I donāt know, but maybe smoke from cooking is too much for the indoor pads.

Iām new with these pads also, I always check from all different angles to make sure . First time i used them I got called back on 3 skylights. That didnāt come out good no big deal it showed customer if there is a problem I will come back . I left the sky lights to wet I used the pad again an they came out perfect. I clean her every 6 months now an the sky lights take me a lot less time then if I would have to bring in a ladder . Plus no mess.
The pads are great, but there have been times when I would use them, but would have to get the ladders out anyway

One more thing if yur in a place like a restaurant, (even a resi if possable) an yur doing a high window, and the wimdow hasnt been cleaned in a while if possable stick it first then give a quick once over with the pad . Jmo works for me .
How many windows out of one pad are people getting?
That is a great question. I am finding that I can get about 3 large storefront windows before changing. But that is only if it is a maintenance clean. Although, I still canāt understand how it is that I am not just pushing dirt around. I think you just have to eyeball the glass to make sure it is looking clean and not smeared.

Thanks pax, I have a situation coming up where there are workstations up against outside windows and of course partitions with windows, in an office setting. I load up my belt for outside work but like to keep it light for inside, and worry about drips. Your info will be a big help.
Hats off to John Lee!
I did a restaurant this week that had a haze on it that showed every stroke of the pad that I had used Sprayway on the month before.
I tried cleaning it again with Sprayway and it just seemed to smear it around after it dried. So, I used what worked on the same type problem on two other jobs. I used the -20 degrees windshield washer fluid. It worked great just as it did on the other two jobs with the same problem.
