anyone think about using the swiffer mop?
for $13 I can get the swiffer mop from homedepot, maybe use my own wet microfiber to clean then a switch to a dry microfiber to polish!
any thought? I would think this be just as good

I think like you do
So. I got a swifter then tried a plastic , then a professional metal microfiber mop.
NONE as good as the unger pads.
Trust me spend your money on the unger pads and pad holder.
I wasted my time and money on other things I thought would work for cheaper.
Wasted time and money.
Pick up a unger pad holder, a couple of pads ( to start ) and a unger pole tip .
Itâs worth it.

Thanks Iâm going to try less.

i will buy the unger kit, if someone raves about a certain product I am usually convinced enough to try it myself.
in this thread more then a few seem to have nothing but good to say.
however can you be a little more detailed as to why the unger pads are better? especially if you tried the swiffer and now have a good measureing point of why the unger is that much better.
maybe the unger padded surface is more sturdy to do a better cleaning on a vertical glass?
Hey
With all of my trials I used a micro fiber pad
With the switer I could not keep the pad on the swifter
The plastic one broke halfway through a job
The metal mop while it worked it was big and bulky
When it did work it didnât work on all windows( or mirrors) due to size
The unger pad holder is all metal with a STIFF SWIVEL
( mmmm stiff swivelsâŚ)
When you put on a pad it stays.
Itâs small enough to fit most windows
Itâs easy to use to get a stray streak
I can use it for rezzy or comercal depending on the pad
And it looks good when I use it.

Hey John , do you guys still sell theses kits ?

Just have water and alcohol at the ready. Depending on temp, humidity, sun, etc⌠you can adjust if too wet and need it to evaporate faster. If glass seems too filmy I just get out a ladder and squeegee it. I have been using the pads on my doors and touchups vice the microfiber or cloths. Using as a hand held. Seems to work pretty good and have not gotten the little microfiber residue from the pads. Very fine fibers that microfibers leave.
I have been using them on my touch ups also, high touch ups works great . I also use the same spray bottle to damping my scrims thatâs been working out good to . Iâm now a damp scrim guy no more dry.

You know what is odd/ Other sprays, dry cloth is needed. With certain alcohol mix, maybe 50/50 I can touch up with a damp huck with no streaks. Cotton flour sack type cloth, needs to be dry.Anything else streaks. I need a good actual scrim. Glass plays a big part too. These glass sprays would be much better if they would just get rid of the surfactants.
I use the Unger indoor pads and love them. They are a bit wasteful on regular windows, but cut down time considerably on things like interior transoms, palladians and skylights.
Highly recommended!
I know Don uses them so trird the polish and cleaning pad with a new holder. Much better than doodle pad. I did add a bit more velcro to the end. I love the feel of the pad holder. Nice sturdy feel and not floppy like doodle. Added new velcro to doodle but just not the same. I do wish the holder was a tad wider to fit the entire pad. Still enough room to go wider and still leave the ends to form into edges and corners. Maybe Unger could âhearâ our thoughts and go a bit larger. Like it anyway.
Can someone give me the link on WCR to purchase this?? Thank you

This is pretty much all you need to start out. I am sure you have poles already. Buy 5 pads to start should be enough. A spray bottle with Di water maybe a little de-natured alchohol look at past posts what they say to do.

speed cleaning kit is amazing . we use it daily with great results. jumped our dollar per man hour about $10-$15
Theses are great , they saved me at least 1-2 hours today to retouch 5 interior high celling windows. I think it took me 10 mins. Thx for the recommendation

What is the best solution to use with the Unger pads? Pure water? Anyone mix alcohol in?
