Hey there everyone! I’ve checked out the forum here a few times over the past couple of years but finally decided to join. Onto the intro.
My name is Matt and I run Brightview Window Cleaning in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. I got into the biz when my desire to work in retail (Best Buy) dwindled because the pay was terrible for all the flak you had to deal with from management. I learned from my father-in-law who has been in the biz for 35 years. He started in Ohio but moved to Oklahoma shortly after to escape the extreme winters. I’ve now been in business for about 3 years, and been working on building up business in the past year since my last day at Best Buy in 2011. I do primarily store-front route work which was given to me. I have added quite a bit to it since I started. I use Ettore brass squeegee handles, channels, and rubber, and Unger 10" and 18" mop handles with the Unger monsoon sleeves. I work out of a 2002 Chevy S10 LS V6 RCSB. I do some residential work as well with a couple of regular accounts, and pick up a few here and there. I’m at about 2.5 days a week of route work and am looking to get it to 4 days a week to allow for weather delays and potential homes. It’s a great biz and definitely beats working for a retail place.
