Hey Guys, I first want to thank everybody who has been helping me. The Scrim is amazing I must say! Totally amazing! I could not believe how good that works! But I have another delima. I have just realized my 32ft Ettore Pole is lousy and the only way to clean a glass window is to be up and personal but having a 2007 Camry, how do I fit a ladder tall enough to reach most 2nd stories? Is there a special ladder that can be small enough to fit inside my trunk and extend just a wee bit into my folded back seat? What bout a roof rack? Do they make roof racks for cars for ladders?
There are some folding ladders like the little giant that might fit in a trunk and I know there are racks that fit many sedans. Yakima makes a rack system for cars that can work for kayaks and similar items that would work for ladders. I don’t have first hand knowledge but others here might.
I just looked on their website and no such thing. I think the little giant would be too big to fit in rear trunk
Yakima makes a rack to fit your car. I believe Thule does as well. For Yakima you can use the Gunwale brackets for canoes to hold your ladder.

2007 Toyota Camry
Many bicycle shops carry roof racks and can help.
Sorry link was supposed to be for your car but you can navigate there. Chose boat option (canoe). I would post pics of my Yakima but I am on my phone. I did post some pics in a stackable ladder thread.
So if I buy this for a canoe, how can a ladder be securely mounted? afraid it could fall off.
Trade the Camry for a Truck or Van?
Yo should trade your camry in for a truck or a van you will look more professional, But if you cant swing it get sectionals Even if you can swing
it get sectioals
By the way, I second the buy a truck or van thoughts as well as a sectional ladder. (I understand it might not be an option) Pictured here is a sectional ladder mounted on a Yakima with Gunwale mounts. I use ratcheting tie-downs and rubber bungees to secure ladder to my rack.
If you’re serious about window cleaning. Buy whatever rack will securely fit and then strap the ladders on with ratcheting straps or bungees.
Or trade the car for a truck. Then you are making $$ and have a business plan and goals, buy just the vehicle you want.
You can definitely work out of a Camry with racks on top. Until you get into pure water cleaning…
when i first started out i was using a Fiat Brava and i unbolted out the passenger front seat and a 2.2 metre triple ladder slid right in with no problems and i worked that way for 1 year
I work out of an ‘05 Scion xB. Before this, I had an ‘84 Camry, and before that, a ‘97 Accord. I’ve never owned a truck/van/suv. My current vehicle is the closest I hope I ever need to getting a van (but you never know ;)). You can definitely work out of a car. Get a good “base rack system” for your car (I like my Inno racks). You shouldn’t need any other attachments. I use a ratchet strap for all of my ladders. I have also carried ladders in the Accord, with the fold down seat. I had a borrowed set of 6’ sectionals at one time, and later bought a little giant knock-off (17’ Gorilla from HD). Either one should fit in most sedans with a fold down seat. And I have carried as much as a 32’ ladder and the Gorilla on top of the Camry. The ratchet straps make a big difference in how secure the ladders will feel. Just don’t ratchet down too tight- might bend the ladder rungs.
There are telescoping ladders you can buy that are very compact, but spendy. Sherwin Williams paint stores have them. It would easily fit in a car trunk. One brand is called Xtend and climb. You can check it out on Amazon. They come in up to 20’ I think.
Thanks for the tip! I have read however that ladders can be very dangerous and me planning on getting the window washer ladder, that seems a bit flimsly. I read many horror stories of ladders slipping off, sliding down, falling over. Have any of you ever had a close call? I can’t imagine doing 2nd story houses with a 32 foot extension pole
Ladders are without a doubt the most dangerous part of the job, but unless you are going to only do storefronts, they are a necessary tool that you need to get used to. If you are worried about using one, then maybe this isn’t the business for you.

Here is a picture from 10 years ago when I first started. Anythin
g is possible.
Yeah that is the awful part of this job. What do you do when you are doing a home that has grass below you? How do you stick the ladder there?
A step stool can be dangerous if you don’t have the footing secured. Always make sure the ladder is set safe and solid. You might have to carry a couple of boards with you long enough to place under the ladder feet to ensure that you have solid footing. A ladder can be safe if you practice ladder safety.
