Help with Slayer channel guards

I recently outfitted my Slayer channels with the channel guards…but for the life of me, they will not stay put. I read the directions (twice at least), tried putting them on right side up, upside down, tried talking nicely to them, and even tried pinching the edges together with needle nose pliers to make them more snug. Well, no luck. Seems that every time I rack my squeegees into (and out-of) my BOAB, these little rascals want to pop off (usually when I’m 20’ up on the ladder). Sometimes they even pop off in the car on my way to work, just sitting in the bucket. I can’t make it through a whole day’s work without having to re-assemble my rubber/channel/guard at least 5 times. In theory, these channel guards seem like a great idea but in my case there must be too many moving parts (hehe). Right before I posted this, I looked them up on ShopWCR, and they seem to be different than the ones I purchased earlier…now they look all gray in color without the red accents. Maybe this is a new design or maybe different material…I dunno. If anyone out there can shed a little light on my dilema it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Pete

Pete we can start by ending you out one of the new sets FREE of charge. Ill get those out in tomm,s shipments. This is the first time I have heard of this complaint, maybe someone else can shed some light.

Wow! Thanks Chris, I would be happy to do a little comparison/experimentation with the two sets (assuming they’re different) and see if I can notice any differences…perhaps I just got a slightly abnormal set from a while back. Anyways, thanks again for sending the new channel guard version 2.0 I’m excited to give them a try. You guys (and gals) rock!

I havn’t had a problem with the guard coming off. On some channels they don’t hold the rubber as secure and the rubber will slide in the channel.
The directions are pretty clear. I’d say if you got it to snap on, it is the right way. Maybe just a bad batch.

One time while setting up a customers Slayer channel I had issue with a Channel Guard. But it turned out not to be the Channel Guard, it was the rubber. It must have been a little abnormal. Swapped out the rubber and the Channel Guard snapped on without a problem.

But don’t worry, we’ll be glad to get you a new set out today.
