Homemade pure water build

I have a 4x10 sediment and carbon the 4x40 RO and 4x40 DI, Friday I had 482 TDS from tap and 002 from DI. It all just depends on how high your TDS is. I only get 000 from DI for about a week or two when I change the resin.
Just saying you don’t always get 000 from a DI is all.

BTW nice DIY cart!

Did you build your own system?

What are your incoming and outgoing TDS readings with your rig?

No. I didn’t realize how easily I could. The next one will be my design. Once I began to truly understand how a system worked and what I need I also began to understand the simplicity in it.

120 coming in … 0-2 coming out

You don’t even need DI with those numbers.

Must be nice
I am a tad jealous of those numbers lol

just threw this video together of the build… shot it all myself using my I-phone so sorry for the quality… enjoy:)

Cool cart setup! Thanks! Great inspiration!

Thank you for not only making this system and telling us about it, but also for making and sharing this video. I think that you have helped a few of us out a lot.

Absolutely! That’s what these forums are all about.

This is awesome was on the verge of spending a whole lot of cash. You have made me stop and think. I’m going to give it a try. Thank you soooo much for sharing.

Not a bad set up. I’m building my own RO/DI setup - going to include 2 ultra-low pressure 40" 2400 gallons per day membranes, anti-scaling filter, and the like with a refillable carbon cartridge - a big bag of carbon was only $40…should last a lifetime…or so!

I’m hoping to see what the output flow is like. My goal is to use it for pressure washing and a tank. Right now, the TDS here i pretty low - was 10ppm today, pre-filter. So I only really need a DI tank which lasts over a year.

…side note, How did this post make it so far? I’ve created DIY stuff and posted all about it (price, links) only to have it pulled/censored. What-evs. :stuck_out_tongue:

What kind of set up did you use to be able to flush the RO?

Bump!!

Searching for DIY RO setups, this is the best I’ve come across. But want to make sure that I don’t wreck my membrane from lack of maintenance.

Any other DIY RO setups to look at? I’m getting into a little more commercial work, and finding that I should really have something more than my 1/2 cube di tank for on-site, high volume water production. Not every town I work in has 35ppm from the tap, and I can’t carry 100+ gallons from home, lol.

I flush my RO membrane with DI water…

How do you do that?

Run the garden hose to your DI, then to the input of the RO.
