Hey all
I gave a quote today on window cleaning in and out. The owner looked at it looked up and asked how I got my numbers. I told him and was told that I was about 100 more than he expected. He said he looked on a site called homewyse and they gave a number and he was expecting that. So I’m wondering anyone heard of this? Any kind of experience with people getting prices off of it? Just curious.

I use it to help pricing certain construction work i do. Price very from zip code to zip code.

this is what they say for window cleaning in general:
Most Window Cleaning work is quoted at a fixed price, for specific service(s) or deliverables. The underlying hourly rate for a Window Cleaner ranges from $27 to $41. Usually, a minimum fee will be charged, which represents 1.5 - 2 hours of effort. In some cases, the quoted job price may be negotiable, particularly if other work is performed by the Window Cleaner.

Never heard of it - just looked it up, cant figure out a way to get window cleaning prices on it at all… Out of curiosity did you close the job?
I’ve used it to help price painting jobs and some other odd jobs. Don’t think I ever looked up window cleaning though

window cleaning does not come up under service categorizes.

Yeah. I use the homewyse painting calculator to get me in the ball park, then adjust the price to make it work for the specific job

that’s the same way i use it…to get in the ball ball park on things that I have not quoted on in a year or two.
Sadly I didn’t close today and don’t think I will. I was told that because the price was so much higher it needed to be discussed with the spouse. I googled it whenever I got a chance and honestly it seems like a good tool to have IF it’s accurate. Could help getting in the ball park of what your market can handle.

Construction yes (it gets you in the ball park)
Window Cleaning No (not even close to market)
I think it’s off on window cleaning. Power washing it’s close at least for here so that’s a plus for people who have added that service on.

unfortunately, it’s probably closer to accurate than you guys think. my guess is us wcr guys represent the highest end on the pricing spectrum of window cleaning. for every one of us charging $50-$75/hour there are ten guys out there charging $30/hour.
Good point Caleb. But let go with its way off…
I wonder where they get their data.
I’d probably say “I’m not an average window cleaning company”.
