I was wondering if anyone is using the Honda Element as a work truck? They have a good amount of room if you take the rear seats out…and I think they would look cool with a nice wrap! The problem I see is that you would have to carry ladders inside which would be a problem. I’m just curious what everyone thinks.
A couple of my buddy’s have used them for window cleaning. 2 DI tanks, 2 hose reels and 2 - 45’ tucker poles will all fit inside. They have also carried a 40’ ladder on top with a Thule rack!
Wow…I guess you can throw a ladder or two on top huh? They are kind of ugly but they are reliable and get decent gas mileage. Thanks for the reply.
And they offer a very nice canvas for your future graphix
i carry my ladders inside only . if you make up a wooden sledge and varnish it ,the ladders slide in and out ,on the sledge quickly and dont make any marks
my sledge finishes down in the front passenger footwell and is made of thin pinewood slats .
Yeah those wraps are sweet. How much does something like that cost…any idea?
The wrap on my truck was just under $4000.00
I agree - the Element is a function, eye-catching vehicle. BUT…it isn’t classified as a truck, which means you get a much smaller tax benefit if you purchase it in your company’s name. (Are you incorporated?)
We just purchased one of those totally wierd looking new Ford Transit Connect things. It is freaking awesome. TONS of space inside. And it’s a truck, so you can take 100% of the purchse price as a tax write-off in the year you purchase it.
Plus, it’s a major eye-catcher. People are constantly looking at our truck. Elements have been around a while, so they’re pretty normal these days.
And you should really consider investing in a wrap for your vehicle - a big cost up front, but wow, do they pay off. Art, who commented earlier, has a great wrap on his pickup that has brought in lots of business. Also, check out window cleaning medics in Orlando and see what they did with their van.
Window Cleaning Medics. A well-designed vehicle wrap will pay for itself in 1 year or less.
I know that vehicle letter works, but like the Element, EVERYONE has vehicle lettering. Even me on our older work truck. But wraps are real attention getters.
Those Transit Connects are something. Talk about a rolling bilboard!!!
A Dodge Sprinter is a rolling billboard; A Ford Transit Connect is a postcard…
Nah, more like a well worded flyer. Not as flashy or big but it packs a punch!
